CHAPTER 3 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:Research Methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. In it we study the various steps that are generally adopted by a researcher in study in his research problem along with the logic behind them. Research methodology concerning a research problem or study provides answers to various like, Why a questions. In a research there are various method are used for research. The selection of method to be used depends upon the nature of the problem selected and the kind of data necessary for its solution. Method selected should changes and additions in the details of method may be necessary task .The study proceeds but the main plan of approach should be ready at the start and the researcher should always be able to describe it clearly.

research study has been conducted, what techniques has been used for analyze the data and similar other

1. RESEACH DESIGN :It is the blueprint of the research to be undertaken. It includes Decisions regarding what, where, when, how much, and by what means.

2. TYPE OF RESEARCH:The research conducted is descriptive in nature. 3.Universe: Universe refers to the total of the units in field of inquiry. This study is restricted to Amritsar city only.

4. SAMPLING PLAN:Sampling unit: It consists of public & customers. Sampling size: This refers to the number of items to be selected from universe. 50 respondents were selected. Sampling Technique: Sampling Technique used in this study is Non-Probabilistic Judgemental Sampling.

5. Data Collection: Both primary and secondary data has been used in the present study. Two types of data are available to the researcher. These are: 1. Primary data

2.

Secondary data

Before collecting primary data secondary data was collected. It was collected from books, websites and other magazines. The Primary data are those which are collected a fresh and for the first time and thus happen to be original. Secondary data are those which have already been collected by some else. Survey method was adopted for collecting primary data. Survey method is a systematic gathering of data from respondents through questionnaires.

6. RESEARCH APPROACH:-

SURVEY APPROACH:- The survey method related to behavioural aspects like perception, awareness, attitude etc, the questions may be asked verbally or in writing.

7. RESEARCH INSTRUMENTS:Questionnaires were used to interview the respondents. The questionnaire was developed so as to obtain response relevant to the objectives of the research. While

designing the questionnaire every attempt was made to make it precise so that the process of filling up the ranking questions. The analysis of each question is given in this report.

8. Tools of Analysis:The data collection in the form of questionnaire is analysed. In the questions, the respondents were asked to different variables.

give their perception towards various issues and study. The percentage was computed for the interpretation of

9. TOOLS FOR PRESENTATION:Tables and pie-charts are used as tools for presentation.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY:-

Although I have done sincere efforts to collect the authentic and relevant information, But no study complete in itself, however good it may be and every study has some limitations: Due to time and resources constraints, the surveys was conducted within the study of the city of

Amritsar and as such the study might not present a true picture of investors.

A small size of 100 respondents may not be representative of the universe. The respondents bias might have crept in while filling the questionnaire. Due to time constraints all the brokers could not be interviewed. Some information may have been left due to time shortage. The overall sample was restricted to the respondents because of limited sources. The time limit for the research was less. Some of the respondents of the survey are unwilling to share the informations. Scope of study is limited to Ludhiana only because of limited time and money. So results of study

may not be generalized.
