AD-501 I Outline of Installation Procedures for 4036 System

When installing the machine and associated options as a system, follow the order shown on the left. DK-501 NOTE For the detailed installation procedures for each option, follow the instructions given in the corresponding Installation Manual and perform the procedures correctly.

1. I Installing the Duplex Unit

Cover 1. Insert a coin into a coin slit in the right door and unlock and remove the cover.

2. Install the guide plate furnished with the unit to the right door (two screws B furnished with the unit).

3. Remove the wiring cover (one screw). 2. Remove protective tape from different parts of the duplex unit.

4. Using nippers, cut out the knockout from the Wiring Cover that has been removed.

5. Install the duplex unit to the right door by inserting its tabs into the rectangular holes in the right door of the machine. NOTE Keep supporting the duplex unit until it is secured with the screws.

9. Reinstall the wiring cover, which has been removed in step 3 (one screw).

6. Open the duplex unit door and secure the duplex unit (two screws A furnished with the unit).

10. Remove the paper exit cover (tow screws).

7. Plug the two connectors from the duplex unit into the connectors on the machine.

11. Move the green lever in the direction of the arrow to change the mounting position.

8. Secure the hookup harness from the duplex unit in position using guide.

12. Reinstall the paper exit cover (tow screws).

AD-501 I Checking and Adjusting the Paper Reference Position

NOTE Perform the following adjustment procedure after the paper reference positions for the paper feed unit PC-101/PC-201/PC-401 have been properly adjusted. 7. Touch 1st and then press the Start key. * A test print will then be produced.

1. Plug the power cord into the power outlet and turn on the machine.

2. Load all paper trays with paper. 3. Display the Tech. Rep. Mode screen. (For details of how to display the Tech. Rep. Mode screen, see the Service Manual.) 4. Touch Machine Adjust. 5. Touch PRT Area. 8. Measure width A of the test pattern on the backside of the test print produced. Paper Exit Direction Check to see if width A falls within the specified range. Specifications: 3.0 mm 1.0 mm

9. If width A falls outside the specified range, enter the difference between width A and the specified value using the or key. 6. Touch Dup. Left Margin. 10. Produce another test print and check for width A. 11. Perform the same check and adjustment procedures for the subsequent trays. 12. Touch END.
