Check for any major scratches on the body.

- Check if all the lights are working including the brake lights, my bike had a blown filament in the tail light that is the one which lights when we brake, but thats subjective. - Ask the dealer if he can give u more of those honda logo key chains He just g ave me one. - If you plan to fit extra fittings like saree/crash gaurd then ask em when it w ill be available. 89 aravind November 6, 2011 at 8:17 pm p 150 will give avg btwn 45-55 kmpl if u maintain it well during runin period u will get avg above 50..don t go beyond 4000rpm till 3500kms..change oil periodical ly first 500kms then 1500 then 3000 from there each 2000kms change oil ..use dtsi 1000 for first 2 free services from there onwards use valvoline 20w50 Been using the Hunk for close to 2 years now. I love the way the bull handles. Y es, the tyres are a let down somewhat but OK. The braking as you mentioned is different from Yams and Bajajs but try braking i n the wet and you will appreciate it. I tested this with a couple of friends on full kit (helmet, riding jacket, shin guards etc). The pulsar and FZ tend to los e their line under hard braking in the wet, but the Hunk does not lose the line. Very reassuring. BTW, use the front brake slightly before the rear brake, this will help you bett er. The best way to get better FE from the beast is to keep it in the 3500 - 4500 RP M band. You will get excellent rideablility and also FE if you do so. I regulary get 54-55 by this method. Of course, at speeds which you mention, you will get less FE. Oil is not the reason for low FE. Stick to HH 10W30 oil. I have crossed more than 20K kms on the bike and I have found it to be the better oil. You cou ld try Gulf 10W30. PLEASE, dont change the rating stick to 10W30 only. Did you break in the bike properly? I hope you did not over rev (cross 4000 rpm) in the initial 1500 kms. If you did, suggest you change the oil and also ask th em to clean the filter. Do follow the Owner s Manual strictly. I have bought my Baby Beast on June 6th. Cl ocked 1200 Kms since then. P150 indeed is a master in its class. I get an averag e of 56 KMPL, smooth ride, no issues till now. Well, its awesome for cornering e specially if you have MRF Nylogrip Zapper tyres. Don t go for any other brand s engi ne oil for the warranty period time, no matter the engine oil is from a Global b rand like Shell, Motul, Valvoline etc. Stick to Bajaj DTSi oil for the first two years. You can change it after your waranty expires. I have found a solution to the Gearshift problem. Don t rev the engine hard while changing gear(up-shift) and don t change gear(down-shift) at higher speeds. Depres s the clutch full while changing gear. Bring down the speed below 25 to change g

ear from 5->1. This has helped me in changing gears as if I am pressing a cotton ball. My bike doesn t even give a click sound while downshifting, although I need t o work on my upshifting part. ey dude my pulsar is of just 2months old and regularly i wont use the bike ..i use only on sundays or any holidays .culd u pls tell me that using once in a week culd create a pblm . REPLY 36 aravind March 16, 2011 at 10:47 am thanks vinay .use it regularly for proper engine break-in ..since it is a new one Good review mate !! First of all its a Pulsar the cheetah So drive sensibly on Rough roads.. Give engine a 30 sec warm up at every morning by keeping it idle after starting the bike. do not use self start in the morning ..itz not a problem to use self but using k ick start in morning will increase ur Battery life Do not modify it ever like extra wider tires , shock uplift etc. it will spoil o ther chassis parts... these are some useful tips :) 1.Always ride sensibly,DON'T put stress on the engine meaning don't accelerate a bruptly. But do accelerate SMOOTHLY. 2.Use the correct gears for speed required. do not try to push so much pressure in the engine U are not racing :D 3.Use normal petrol,ON & OFF the bike only in neutral always. If you take the bik e to highways, ride it at 70-80 kmph for stress-free-engine ride... 4.put a little engine oil in the silensor ..for smoother sound ..not daily ..jus t 3to 5 drops in a week.. 5.ALWAYS follow the instructions given in the owner's manual. 6.after 1st service use castrol power1 engine oil (Rs300/-).it is really awesome ..more pickup, more mileage ,more smoothness. 7.wash bike properly..keep it clean.. 8.put engine oil on the chain too.. AND DO NOT WAIT FOR THE MANUAL SERVICING (when bike asks for maintanence ).KEEP THE BIKE UP TO DATE IN UR CHOICE.. don't worry u have the best bike PULSAR it really rox For good mileage on Xtreme/Hunk/Dazzler/Unicorn try this, 1. First oil change at 100-200kms don t wait upto 700kms , next change as recommen ded 2. Increase/double Run-in mileage (2000kms would be ideal) a. RPM < 4000 ; Speed <45kmph for first 200kms b. Speed <50 kmph for first 200kms RPM < 4500 c. Speed <60 kmph upto 1500kms RPM < 4500 d. Speed <70 kmph upto 2000kms RPM < 5500 e. Use only recommended oil, no synthetic allowed during run-in (and better ther e after) I followed this on my Achiever, and it gives rock solid 50-55kmpl in B'luru norm al traffic w/o compromising on fun factor. At arounf 6,000kms my bike gave whopp ing 57kmpl !! Now the bike has done 14K+kms and it gives me 52kmpl consistently. REPLY
