GUIDELINES FOR THE EVENTS

PEP SQUAD COMPETITION


Participants 1. A minimum of 20 and a maximum of 40 participants are allowed and shall be composed of all males, all females, or a combination of both. Less or excess will mean disqualification. 2. Each participating team must have their HEAD SQUAD CHEERLEADER, either male or female who is also a member of the pep squad team who must be uniquely identified for the Ultimate Cheerleader Award.

ULTIMATE CHEERLEADER AWARD:


1. This will be done DURING the Pep Squad Competition proper.

2. Any individual routines, steps, stunts and even props are allowed provided that safety measures must be observed. 3. Top three performers are to be awarded as Ultimate Cheerleader, first runner-up and second runner up with corresponding points. 4. The winner cheerleader shall not gain any additional points or grade for his/ her squad since this is considered as a separate event. Performance 1. Performance order is pre-determined (during the General Assembly) Performers must be present one (1) hour before the contest at the competition venue. Any team that fails to appear on the designated time and place will automatically be the first team to perform. 2. Each team member must present his/her school ID together with the PNSA ID to the Committee head for attendance and verification right after the drawing of lots.
3. The team that will present should be ready outside the venue ten (10) minutes before

performance. Delay due to any reason will mean disqualification.


4. All teams must stay outside the performance venue while waiting for their turn.

Violation would mean two (2) points deduction from the total score.
5. Pep dance routines including the entrance, exit of the participants and the clearing of

props on the performance area are limited to a minimum of seven (7) minutes and a maximum of ten (10) minutes. An excess or less in seconds in the allotted time would automatically mean one (1) minute and is equivalent to one (1) point deduction from the garnered score for every considered minute. The moment the dancers step in the point of entrance, time starts. Flag will be raised to signal that time has started.
6. Point of entrance and exit will be uniform for all teams. Failure to follow the set point of

entrance and exit would mean deduction of two (2) points from the total score.

7. Provocative attires (i.e plunging necklines, use of miniskirts without under garments)

are not allowed. Violation would mean deduction of two (2) points from the total score.
8. Stunts, lifting and pyramid formation are allowed provided that safety measures must

be observed. Stunts are limited to a maximum of three (3) layers only. Violation would mean disqualification.
9. Props are allowed. However, the use of fire, explosives, live animals and liquid of any

type are strictly prohibited. Violation would mean disqualification.


10. The team should clear the performance area of their props right after their presentation

to give way for the next team. Failure to do so would mean deduction of two (2) points from the total score.
11. Use of face paints, masks that would completely hide the real identity of the

participants is prohibited. Violation of this rule will mean disqualification.


12. Participating team may use any type of music relatively suited for the performance. 13. A sound system is provided in the performance area. Participating team should

provide (2) CDs and a designated music manager. 2 copies of CDs properly labeled with the name of school and track number must be given to the head of the Pep squad competition right after the drawing of lots.
14. In order to ensure the smooth flow of the competition, the next team should be ready

on the point of entrance three (3) minutes after the previous team proceeds to the performance area. 15. Should a routine be interrupted because of organizers equipment or facility failure, the team will be permitted to reorganize and resume performing at the point of interruption or at the discretion of the organizers.
16. Should a routine be interrupted because of the teams equipment or supplies failure,

the team will NOT be given time to reorganize and should continue the performance or withdraw from the event. Time clock will continue despite interruption. Judges and Awards 1. Announcement and awarding of winners will be done right after the competition. 2. Rule interpretation or qualification matters should be directed to the organizing committee before the event. 3. Performance or scoring questions should be directed to the organizers after the conclusion of the Pep Squad Competition.
4. The organizing committee has the right to decide on any affecting matter that

circumstances may require especially if conflicts arise.

NURSING OLYMPIAD
EVENTS CATEGORY Nursing Olympiad is categorized in to two (2) major events and has its minor or subevents which are as follows: QUIZ BEE: There are 10 subjects included, as follows: a. Medical-Surgical Nursing b. Psychiatric Nursing c. Maternal and Child Health Nursing/ OB-Gyne d. Pharmacological Nursing e. Fundamentals of Nursing, Jurisprudence and Current Events f. Community Health Nursing & Communicable Diseases g. Human Anatomy and Physiology h. Nursing Jurisprudence i. Nursing Research j. Nursing Informatics SKILL-0-RAMA a. Nursing Care Plan Making b. Basic Life Support/First Aid c. RLE Skills Competition PARTICIPANTS
1. Each participating schools must have a team composed of two (2) students for the Nursing Care Plan Making and five (4) students for the Quiz Bee composed of one student representing each year level, nine (9) students for the Basic Life Support and First Aid Competition, two (2) students for the RLE Skills Competition and a mentor/coach for every event. 2. Contestants must be duly recommended by the Dean/Head of their school. 3. Each team must identify a team captain. 4. Substitution is not allowed during the conduct of the competition proper.

QUIZ BEE COMPETITION

The Quiz Bee shall have three rounds: the Qualifying Round (1), the Semi-Final Round (2), and the Final Round (3), to be held in the morning of the second day of Congress. QUALIFYING ROUND (ROUND 1) 1. Olympians must be on the venue fifteen (15) minutes before the competition starts. The competition will start exactly at the designated time, and late Olympians will be considered as default and can no longer join the competition. 2. Olympians should wear their prescribed school uniform with their school ID (Identification Card). 3. This shall be held on-stage and shall be a quiz bee type of competition. 4. Each round will be composed of 30 questions. In between rounds, there will be a 2minute lull. 5. At the end of this round, the cumulative score of each team will be computed. 6. The Nursing Olympiad Jury shall declare the Top Ten (10) participating schools that will advance to Round 2 (Semi-Final Round). 7. During unavoidable circumstances wherein a participant can no longer join the competition, substitution will be allowed provided that the substitute is included in the master list of participants submitted to the organizers. 8. The four contestants must come from different year levels (Levels I-4). QUIZ BEE MECHANICS A. Reading Mechanics 1. Questions in any given phase may be objective or free-response type with their corresponding time limit: 15 seconds to answer. 2. All contestants will answer the same set of questions by writing on an official cardboard/answer sheet. Before a question is read, the team captain must raise their pen/chalk. 3. Questions will be read twice, in English, by the Quizmaster. After the second reading, the Quizmaster shall say Go only then will the Olympians be allowed to start writing their answer. Automatically, the time limit (15seconds) will begin with the word Go from the Quizmaster. B. Answering Mechanics 1. Each team will be provided with official cardboard/answer sheet. 2. Answers must be printed legibly and properly encircled on the cardboard/answer sheet. 3. Only answers within the encircled portion of the cardboard/answer sheet shall be considered official answers. 4. Non-encircled answers will be considered as No Answer. 5. Only complete answers will merit full credit. Incomplete answers shall be considered wrong answers and will not be credited. 6. For numerical answers, it should always be accompanied by proper units whenever necessary. 7. All the teams are REQUIRED to answer all the questions. There will be a 5-point deduction to the teams score for every question left unanswered. 8. The sound of a bell will prompt that given time has elapsed and contestants must stop answering. Failure to do so is equivalent to one point demerit from the score. C. Scoring Mechanics 1. The quiz shall follow a point system of recording.

D. Protest Mechanics 1. Any Olympian or team coach may raise a protest. 2. All protests shall be forwarded to the Nursing Olympiad Jury for decision. 3. During the protest, the Olympian has the privilege to consult a reference, provided that they are relevant to the subject of the protest. Only Nursing Books are allowed to be used as reference. 4. The Nursing Olympiad Jury shall be given time to resolve the protest. After which, the competition shall go on. 5. Protest regarding a particular question will be entertained only before the next question is read. Once the next question is read, NO protest regarding the previous question will be entertained. E. Tie breaker Mechanics 1. In case of a tie at the end of the round, a tiebreaker will ensure a sudden death in nature. 2. Tiebreaker Questions will be asked until a team gains a positive advantage in score over the other. 3. The first team to gain a positive advantage in score will be declared the victor and will merit the corresponding recognition. A positive advantage in score constitutes an advantage gained by a team over the others by giving a correct answer. SEMI-FINAL ROUND (ROUND 2) 1. The Semi-Final round registration will start exactly after the 2-minute break. Late Olympians will be considered as default and can no longer compete. 2. Scores will be BACK TO ZERO. Scores from the previous round will not be carried over to the next round. 3. The mechanics of the Semi-Final Round will follow that of the Qualifying round. 4. The Nursing Olympiad Jury shall declare the Top Five (5) participating schools that will advance to the Final Round. FINAL ROUND (ROUND 3) 1. Scores will again be BACK TO ZERO. Scores from the previous round will not be carried over to the next round. 2. The mechanics of the Final Round will follow that of the Qualifying and Semi-Final Round. 3. FIRST AID AND BASIC LIFE SUPPORT COMPETITION


(IMPORTANT: There will be some changes on the guidelines to be discussed during the General Assembly after guidelines from the Red Cross is retrieved) Description of Event: The event will consist of two rounds of competition for a 9-person team (7 members, 2 alternates). Round one will be the performance of selected skill procedure(s) identified in a written scenario. The scenario will require the use of critical thinking skills. Each station has a corresponding task they need to accomplish. The performance will be timed and evaluated according to the event guidelines. Rules and Procedures:
1. Competitors of this event must be a bona fide member of the PNSA and has training and skills in First Aid and Basic Life Support. They must present their updated PNSA membership ID. 2. They should provide their own basic equipments and materials expected in a first aid such as binders, spine board, bandages etc. 3. All competitors shall report to the site of event orientation at the time designated. The round one of the competition shall immediately follow after the orientation. No proxies will be allowed for the orientation. 4. Each team must consist of 6-7 members. Each team should select their own team captain for the whole event. 5. The competition is composed of two (2) rounds. Round one is the Performance of Skill Event composing of three stations. Or a scenario that they need to accomplish or perform. The procedure approved for these rounds will be discussed during the General Assembly. 6. The selected procedure(s) for each station, in the form of a written scenario, will be presented to the competitors at the start of the skill to be performed. The timing of the skill will begin when the scenario is presented. The scenario will be the same for each team and will include a challenging component that will require the competitors to apply critical thinking skills. 7. The scenario is a secret topic. Competition ethics demand that competitors DO NOT discuss or reveal the secret topic until after the event has concluded. Competitors who will violate this ethical standard will be disqualified. However, those teams who are waiting for their turn to perform will be isolated so that they will not have the chance to observe the procedures performed by the preceding teams.

8. Competitors must complete all steps of the procedures listed in the guidelines even if the step must be simulated or verbalized. (if the equipment is available, the competitors would complete all steps of the procedure as the scenario warrants. If the equipment is NOT available, the competitors will simulate and verbalize the steps.) 9. If a competitor jeopardize the patients or his/her own safety or fails to perform a critical step and does not take immediate action to correct the error, the total point for the procedure or specific subpart(s) of the procedure will be deducted by the judge(s) 10. A twelve-minute maximum time limit has been set for reviewing the scenario and the team demonstration. Timing will begin when the team receives the scenario outside the presentation room or field. Competitors will be stopped at the end of twelve minute (12) time limit. After the required time finish or not in completing the procedure, then will be the time them for the next station. 11.Competitors must be familiar and should adhere to the General Rules and Regulations of the PNSA First Aid and Basic Life Support Competition. 12.Round one is composed of a total of 80% for the perfect score. 13. The round two (2) of the event is a quiz bee type of competition. The quiz will be composed of three (3) categories: EASY, MODERATE and DIFFICULT. Each category has corresponding points to be earned with the team who got the correct answer. 1 point for EASY, 3 points for MODERATE and 5 points for DIFFICULT category. 14.The round Two (2) is 20% of the total team score.

NCP MAKING COMPETITION


1. The contest is open to level 3 and 4 nursing students only. There shall be one (1) entry per team composed of two (2) NCP makers. 2. Contestants are not allowed to bring any reference materials (e.g. NCP book or NANDA). 3. A sample case study shall be given by the facilitator on the spot. Each team shall simultaneously start and make three (3) prioritized NCPs within one (1) hour. 4. The format to be followed for the NCP consists of 7 columns: a. Assessment b. Nursing Diagnosis c. Rationale d. Expected Outcomes e. Interventions f. Rationale g. Evaluation 5. Additional of fifteen (15) minutes shall be given to rewrite the NCPs legibly on manila paper. 6. The teams shall present their NCPs with three (3) panellists, who are not connected or affiliated with any of the participating schools.

7. Each team is given twenty (20) minutes to discuss the case and subsequently present their NCPs. A deduction of one point per 5-minute extension shall apply. 8. The teams shall be graded according to the following criteria:
a. Content & organization

9. The panellists shall give their feedback after the presentation of all teams. 10. The team with the highest grade shall be declared the winner. RLE SKILLS COMPETITION


This competition requires a pair of contestants who will perform five (5) out of ten (10) nursing procedures given prior to the Congress. Contestants will be graded according to their performance with the use of an evaluative tool. The specific guidelines for this event shall be given during the General Assembly. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Players must not exceed with the maximum number of participation which is two (3) events. 2. Must be in good health and physically fit to engage in strenuous activity. A medical certificate from their respective school clinic should be submitted. 3. Official entries must have its standard members of players for each event. Each team should have a Sports Coordinator or a Manager or a Coach who may either be a student, a faculty member of the participating schools or any hired coach/manager. 4. EVENTS. SYSTEM OF ELIMINATION. 1. Bracketing and Single Elimination system shall be adopted except for swimming. 2. Ranks 1 & 2 in bracket A & B will advance to the cross over match 3. Winners for the championship match will be the champion and the loser will be the 1 st Runner-up. GROUND RULES. 1. Every sport event is patterned from the international rules. However, there are ground rules that will be formulated and will supersede concerned provisions of the International rules for the purpose of the said friendship games. 2. The Dean/Heads/Coaches of the participating school shall be responsible for the discipline, behavior, punctuality, conduct and sportsmanship of their athletes; otherwise the REC shall be constrained to impose any penalty or sanctions such as disqualification of players as specified in Section X of this General Rules and guidelines. 3. In order to claim a win, a team must have enough eligible players to start a game. If such game will not start due to the lack of players, winner by default shall be implemented. 4. Timers, referees and other officials hired by the association to officiate in the game are empowered to make judgments which are deemed final. 5. Each Player should present their PNSA ID and SCHOOL ID to the officiating team every time they play/before the game start for proper identification and be returned after the said game. 6. The organizing/sports committee reserves the right to decide on any affecting matters regarding the guidelines, rules and regulation as it deemed necessary. UNIFORM. All players must be in their proper uniform during each game. Basketball should be in complete uniform. The other events may wear their uniform shirt only with their school logo, number and name for identification purposes. 1. A player is disqualified to play if he/she uses his/her teammates uniform during the game. 2. The uniform must bear the family name and his/her number and their school. 3. A violation of section VIII will not allow a player/team to play in their respective games. DEFAULTS. 1. Any player, athlete/team who fails to report or appear after ten (10) minutes from the previous game or after the scheduled game time will be automatically declared in default except for the events following the rule of succession. 2. Lack of players to start a game on the scheduled time shall mean a default. 3. Players who are about to play but with inappropriate uniform will mean default.

DISQUALIFICATIONS. 1. Any player, athlete, coach or sports coordinator of the participating school found guilty of misbehavior, like instigating or insulting an official or a Congress facilitator, uttering derogatory remarks or sportsmanlike conduct will be subjected to automatic disqualification during the rest of the game being played or throughout the duration of the Congress depending on the gravity of the offense. 2. Any player who commits flagrant foul or fighting in any event shall not be allowed to play. 3. Any obvious sign of drunkenness/intoxication or use of prohibited drugs by any member of the team or participating school shall be disqualified. 4. A player who is thrown out of the game shall be given a warning. If he/she is thrown out of the game for the second time, he/she shall not be allowed to play in the succeeding games. 5. Any player, sports coordinator or school officials found guilty of falsifying record/credentials or have resorted to impersonation shall be automatically disqualified to play. 6. The games of a team found to have fielded ineligible player/s in a game shall be automatically forfeited in favor of the opposing team. 7. Walkout means disqualification automatically forfeited in favor of the opposing team. PROTEST. 1. A coach shall inscribe in the score sheet that the game is under protest immediately before, during and after the game and should sign the score sheet. 2. Written protest shall be entertained if presented within an hour after the events or games. A written protest shall be duly signed by the protesting party and approved by the concerned Dean/Head or any higher official of the said party. 3. Protest may be filed against a player, team, coach and manager of the protested party. It shall be a written report addressed to the Chairman of the Jury of Appeals within an hour following the game or event. 4. The Jury of appeals shall render its decision immediately after the filing of such protest. 5. The Jury of Appeals shall only entertain manager, coaches, deans and other officials of the protesting and protested party during the deliberation of the protest. 6. The Jury will not entertain verbal protest especially if it will only disrupt the progress of the game. JURY OF APPEALS. The jury shall decide cases filed by managers, coaches, Deans and other officials from the contending schools. The decision of the jury is final and executory. RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR EACH EVENT


BASKETBALL 1. The FIBA rules shall be applied in this friendship game.

2. Each team shall have a maximum of twelve (12) players, a coach/ manager. 3. Change in line-up will be allowed before the start of the game. 4. Due to limited number of playing days, the games will be played 10 minutes per quarter for men and 15 minutes per half for women (2 timeouts/half). 5. A player will be suspended for one (1) game if he/she is ejected due to flagrant foul. 6. A player who commits two (2) hit above the neck (in successive games or not) will not be allowed to play for the duration of the game. 7. A coach may be ejected if he commits two (2) technical foul or three (3) technical fouls committed by the bench followers. VOLLEYBALL 1. The new amendments on the FIVB rules shall be applied in this friendship game. 2. Teams shall be composed of 12 players, a coach and manager. 3. Jogging pants are not allowed for playing, only the prescribed team uniform. 4. All games will be played in two (2) out of three (3) sets during the elimination. 5. Games for the championship round will be played in three (3) out of five (5) set. 6. Two time-outs for every set. SOCCER 1. The FIFA rules shall be applied in this friendship game. 2. Teams shall be composed of 15 players, a coach and manager. 3. Matches will be played for 30 minutes per half with (5) minutes interval. 4. A team is allowed to substitute four (4) players only. 5. If a tie results at the end of the match, the winner shall be determined by taking five (5) kicks from the penalty mark. 6. If at the end of the match the score is 0-0, an extension of ten (10) minutes will be played. 7. If a draw still exists after the extension, the winner shall be determined by taking five (5) kicks from the penalty mark. 8. If a draw still exist after the five (5) kicks, a sudden death shoot off will be applied. 9. A player who receives two (2) yellow cards during the competition shall automatically be suspended for one (1) game following the match with whom he received the second yellow card. 10. A player dismissed from the game (red card) by the referee shall be automatically suspended for one game following the match. 11. For a second red card, the player shall not be allowed to participate in any match for the duration of the friendship game. BADMINTON 1. The IBF rules shall be applied in this friendship game. 2. There must be 2-3 players for both men and women, any players of the event can play for the single and doubles. 3. The rule of succession will be observed. There is only one (1) schedule time set for the match series to be played, when match is finished the next is called. So players should be in the playing site to avoid losing the game by default. 4. Match shall be best of three (3). 5. Match shall be straight 1-21 (rally point). 6. Games for the championship round will be best of five (1-11). TABLE TENNIS 1. The ITTF rules shall be applied in this friendship game, except of the following.

2. There must be 2-3 players for both men and women, any players of the event can play for the single and doubles. 3. Wearing of slippers, sandals and denim is not allowed. 4. The rule of succession will be observed. There is no time schedule set for the match series to be played, when match is finished the next is called. So players should be in the playing site to avoid losing the game by default. 5. Match shall be best of three (3). 6. Match shall be straight 1-21 (rally point). 7. Games for the championship round will be best of five (1-11). SWIMMING 1. The swimmers are allowed to participate in one (1) or two (2) events upon the submission of the official entry from. 2. This is an individual event. 3. The following are the events to be contested: a. 50m and 100m freestyle b. 50m and 100m breaststroke c. 50m and 100m backstroke d. 50m and 100m butterfly Note: We are imposing strict observance of the guidelines. Literary, Musical and Dance Competition Guidelines, Mechanics and Criteria for Judging General Guidelines 1. All member school may send the number of participants required for each event. A winning participant/s will be earning points for the schools total score for the over-all standing. 2. The events are as follows: Extemporaneous Speaking, Debate Competition, Essay Writing Contest and Still Life Sketching Competition for Literary competitions and Vocal Solo, Vocal Duet, Interpretative Dance Contest, Acoustic Drive and Hip-Hop Dance Contest for Musical and Dance competitions. 3. Participants must be at the venue thirty minutes before the schedule of the contests start. Any participating school who came five (5) minutes late on the scheduled time would mean a deduction of five (5) points from the school overall score and fifteen (15) minutes late would mean default for the event. 4. All participating schools will have the individual exposures according to the length of exposure defined in the specific guidelines for the events.

Judges will be composed of selected individual with a good background and knowledge about the event to be judged. The judges should not have any connection to any participating schools to avoid bias.

LITERARY COMPETITIONS
EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEAKING 1. Each school shall only have one representative. 2. The contestants must come in their semi-formal attire. 3. The medium for the contest will be ENGLISH. 4. The style of delivery shall be conversational, oratorical or a combination of both. 5. The topic shall be coming from the judges and that shall be given during the competition. 6. Contestants must develop their speech on the topic given to them three minutes prior to the time of delivery. 7. Contestants will have three minutes to deliver their speech. 8. As soon as the first speaker has started, the next speaker will also start his/her preparation time and will deliver after the first speaker has consumed the three minutes for delivery. This will be followed until the last speaker. 9. White flag will be raised to signal that two minutes has already elapsed while red flag will be raised to signal the end of delivery and start of delivery of the next speaker. 10. CRITERIA Content, Clear organization and Originality 35% Delivery 25% Pronunciation, Enunciation and Diction 20% Stage Presence 10% Total 100% DEBATE COMPETITION 1. Each debating team shall be composed of two speakers and a scribe. 2. The Parliamentary Form of debate will be used. 3. The medium of language is preferably English but Filipino terms and phrases are also accepted. 4. The rebuttal speech may be delivered by any of the three members of each side. 5. The speaker will be given seven (70 minutes for his/her constructive speech. The second and rebuttal speakers will be given five (5) minutes for their respective speeches. 6. 7. During the debate proper, the debaters shall be guided by the following: Green Flag Start of Delivery White Flag One minute has passed Yellow Flag One minute remaining Red Flag Time is up 8. Speakers who continue their speeches after the time allotted will be given three (3) points deduction per minute or less. 9. There will be elimination rounds and a final round. 10. The audience may participate by saying, HEAR if they agree with the statements of the speakers and SHAME if they disagree. The audience is allowed to say their stand after one-minute has lapsed and one-minute before the end of the time. But audience is not allowed to clap and shout. 11. The Board of Adjudicators shall be composed of a chairman and two members. They shall determine the winning debating team. 12. The first two speakers of each team will compose 60% of the final average and the 40% thereof will come from the Rebuttal Speaker of each team. 13. The criteria for judging for the first two speakers of each team will be as follows: Content 45% Delivery 30% Confidence and Bearing 15% Total 100% 14. The rebuttal speakers of each team will be judged on the following criteria: Content 50% Delivery 20% Impact 30% Total 100% 15. Team pairing will be determined by the LITMUSDA Committee. 16. The team who won the final round will be declared as the champion. ESSAY WRITING CONTEST 1. Each school shall only have one representative. 2. The medium of the piece is ENGLISH. 3. The topic will be coming from the judges and will be given on the day of the competition. 4. The contestants shall be given one and a half hour to develop the composition. 5. The contestants will use a number on their paper according to the form filled up during the registration time for their identification. 6. No books, materials, dictionaries and the like shall be brought inside the contest venue. The theme for the contest will be coming from the judges and will be given on the day of the competition. 4. The contest duration is for a period of one and a half hour. 5. No distinguishing mark or name of the contestant shall appear in the entry. The contestants will use a number on their illustration board according to the form filled up during the registration time for identification. The music piece must be one straight Original Pinoy Music (OPM) song, either English or Filipino. Revival or adaptation from foreign composition is not allowed. 4. The music to be used must be on a CD or multiplex tape which should be presented with the track no. of the music piece to the LITMUSDA Committee as soon as the contestant arrives from the contest venue. 5. The music piece shall not be more than five (5) minutes. Every minute excess or less corresponds to a point deduction from its school over-all score.

No repetition after a mistake is committed and the contestants should proceed with their performance. 4. Choreography like facial gestures, hand movements and small steps are allowed. 5. AMBASSADOR AND AMBASSADRESS OF GOODWILL


1.

Candidates must be 16 to 25 years of age.

2. Male candidates must be at least 53 and females must at least be 50 in height. 3. Candidates must be single. Female candidates must never been married and never been a mother. Participants must be of good scholastic standing. Candidates must have a previous semester General Weighted Average of 2.4 and must not have a failing mark on any of his/her subjects.

6. He/she must not be a major title holder in any major beauty pageant, runnersup however are allowed to join the contest.

7. Each participating school must send a pair of candidates (1 male and 1 female). The concept for the production number is Angels of the Sick Room. The attire for the production number will be based on this concept and details shall be discussed during the General Assembly.

Pictorial is mandatory for the official candidates.

10. Each school with entries for this event is obliged to support their respective candidates especially in terms of resources and funding.
11. 12. Each candidate must only have one assistant.

PUNCTUALITY must be strictly observed in all activities. Inability to comply will be grounds for disqualification from the activity. Events shall start on time when majority of the candidates are present. The disqualification of candidates score will be decided upon by the Grievance and Pageant committee. The official PNSA time will be used by the REC when dealing with this matter. Exaggerated movements and grave violations of the choreography will merit each violator of the rule with 3 points demerit from the total score of the school.

Failure to appear in every exposure after the announcement of the top 10 up to the announcement of winners will mean fifty (10) points deduction per candidate in the over-all championship game.
14.

This years title holders will be automatically become a member of the Regional Executive Council and will participate in all social and special function that the association may require. Rule of succession will be followed if this year title holders are 4th year Nursing Students.

1. Photo contest is open to all Nursing students from all year levels. 2. The congress is open for amateur and professional student photographers. 3. The organizers will allow entries taken within three months prior to the cut off date of submission and must never been submitted as entry to any other photo contest. 4. Participants may use digital or film based cameras. 5. Manually retouched or painted over photos are not allowed. 6. Creative effects done within the camera at the time of exposure e.g. multiple exposures, flash fill, lighting, filtration, etc. are allowed. 7. Digital retouching on density, contrast adjustments, minor cropping, burning, and dodging may be tolerated, although major manipulation of main images through adding or subtracting are not allowed. 8. The number of participants that will join the contest from each school is limited to ten (10) only. 9. The theme of the contest is Zooming in Hope. The photos shall be focused on portraying hope amidst adversity in the context of healthcare which can be associated with peoples disabilities, terminally ill patients, mentally incapacitated persons etc. 10. All entrants must submit a hard copy printed on a 5R photo paper in triplicate (3copies) and a soft copy stored in a CD. 11. Photo entries must be contained in a long brown envelope during submission and attached herewith on a separate sheet of paper must be: a. The contestants name b. Camera type and model c. Title of the Photo and a one paragraph essay about the photo d. Date photo was taken, place where photo was taken e. CD 12. Registration fee of Php 100 will be collected from each participant to sustain the expenses for the exhibit, printing and tokens for the judges and other expenses related to this activity. 13.
