Broad Specifications for the Grinding media:

1. The material should be exactly same as supplied earlier by the firm through its business partner vide PO No. CO/RPE/P-6376/10149 Dated 27/11/2008 and must be compatible with coal mill liners. A certificate in this regard be submitted along with the offer . 2. The Broad chemical composition of the grinding media should be as under: Hi chromium steel with following composition : Carbon 2.0 to 3.5% Cr 10 to 18% Si 1.0% max Mn 0.5 to 1.5% Sulphur & Ph 0.1% MaxNi 2% max Mo 2.5% max Copper 2% Max Process casting Hardness Minimum 57 RC 3. The hardness will be uniform in the range throughout the cross section. 4. The structure will be stable tempered fine martensitic matrix with evenly dispersed secondary ultra hard C2 type trigonal carbides. Microstructure Analysis report will be supplied for each size and for each lot along with Standard pattern. 5. The Guaranteed wear rate of grinding media shall not be more than 145gm/MT of Coal ground . Any increase in wear rate beyond this limit shall have to be made up by supplying additional quantity free of cost including transportation and insurance expenses. As per the present practice , the wear rate will be calculated Unitwise periodically during the major shut down of the Unit and will be from shut down to shut down of the Unit . As the earlier material is also supplied bythe firm through its Business partner so continuity will be assumed for make up charge and calculating wear rate. Wear Rate for Unit = {(initial charge+make up charge during the year(MT )Grinding media left in the mills(MT) }x 10`_______________________________________ Total Coal Consumption during the period(MT) i.e Wear Rate for unit = Total Grinding media consumed x 10 gms/MT Total Coal Consumption during the period (MT) 6. Any defective or inferior material shall be rejected and shall have to be supplied by the firm free of cost. 7. To establish the performance of Grinding media , if any test is required to be carried out at any external approved laboratory by this office , the expenditure in this regard shall be borne by the vendor. 8. Firm shall certify full technical support after sales and shall provide visit of their Engineer free of cost whenever required as per unit overhaul or otherwise for fine tuning of the mill including suggestion of make up charge and ratio of various sizes. To improve performance of mill, firm will provide ball sorting machine during each overhaul or otherwise as and when required by this Office free of cost. 9. The firm will submit a complete manufacturing quality plan in a format that will be approved by GNDTP . The plan will indicate detailed quality check to be performed during various processes and the standards to be maintained regarding chemical composition ,surface hardness, core hardness ,surface inspection , dimensional checks and mechanical properties etc. 10.The material will be inspected during the process if required / prior to dispatch by the representative of GNDTP Bathinda at firm`s premises as per the approved Quality Plan.The firm shall provide all the facilities as may be required to carry out the tests in accordance with QP free of cost.
