Learning Objectives: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
• Investigate animals with backbones or no backbones (vertebrates,
invertebrates).
• Sort animals with backbones into broad groups according (mammals,
amphibians, reptiles, birds, and fish).
• Differentiate their observable characteristics.
• Investigate where the groups live (in land, in water, etc)
• Explain differences on ability to carry out certain processes of live
(movement, respiratory, feeding, excretion, growth, reproduction)
The Lesson The Hook: Teacher will show pupils few images of animals including cat, bird,
fish which can be the human pets. Teacher will ask whether those animals are

(slideshows). There will be oral questioning to encourage the pupils to
discover/ find the answer. An open discussion is also encouraged by the
teacher in order for them to develop their communication skills.

Visit the local environment, museum, zoo to find and identify animals and plants.
Make drawings of the animals and note where they were found.
