-2 The proposed high speed rail linkage of Bangalore-Mysore will be heavily utilized by tourism, IT and commuter traffic between Bangalor<:: and Mysore and result in huge shift from:road and air to rail, which is more sustainable mode of travel due tt> far lower fuel consumption, carbon emi"ssions and accidents. Currently, KSRTC runs 1000 bus trips between Bangalore carrying 35,000 passengers daily, a major share is expected to shift to high speed rail in the future thus reducing the fuel consumption, carbon emissions and road accidents. In addition, a huge number of commuter trips are expected between Bangalore and Mysore as people settle in less congested areas near Mysore and travel daily to Bangalore:- Thus, Bangalore-Mysore high speed rail route will run to capacity right from the start of operations and ensure financial viability for the proposed high speed rail corridor project of Railways. Ccnsidel-ing the above facts, I req~est you to kindly include Bangalore- Mysore route also in the above High Speed Rail Corridor. With regards,
