J o a n Ta y l o r s . . . . . . . . . . . Te n P i n R a p
Did you know? New Jerseys own Kelly Kulick has landed a prime-time role in a new Bridgestone Americas advertising campaign, in which the company is poised to utilize its tire technology revolutionize the world of sports as we know it. The Union, N.J., resident will represent bowling alongside athletes from a variety of other ball sports plus hockey in the campaign. Its an ad campaign for Bridgestone tires that relates the performance of their products to different sports, and they use athletes to get their message across, Kulick said. Im very excited to be asked to represent the PBA and bowling in the campaign. While the debut commercial only includes a unique bowling ball that appears to be made of Bridgestone tire material, and a cameo head shot of Kulick, Theres more to come, she said. You always remember your first. First love, first job, first perfect game. Christopher Morris, Flanders, saw his first 300, this at Rockaway Lanes in the Rockaway Foursome league. On a 200 average, he rolled 204300-179. He used a Storm Fast ball fitted by Pro Image Pro Shops Ken Yokobosky. His previous high sanctioned single game was a 290 (nine-spare, then off the sheet with eleven consecutive strikes). He chose the USBC ring for his achievement. Morris enjoys two leagues, both at Rockaway Lanes. He got interested in bowling about 15 years ago, in a league at the former Astro Bowl in Clifton. Back then, he says that Paul Gasper (A Passaic County Hall of Famer) helped him hone his skills. He also picked up pointers from his brother Stanley, and sister Bonnie. Was he nervous? Definitely. For the ninth frame, I was a little nervous, but in the tenth I really was very nervous. But I had a friend whom I used to bowl with visiting from California. Having him there, and other friends too, kept me relaxed. It was just a great night; pretty amazing. With a high sanctioned series of 747, Morris is looking to post the big 800 someday. Get well wishes are extended to Morris County USBC WBA Association Manager Elaine Struss-Feret, who is recovering from recent heart bypass surgery. Cards can be sent to Elaine at: 25 Troy Hills Rd, Whippany, NJ 07981
