WORK EXPERIENCE From Dec. of 2007 until June of 2009, I worked for the Salt Lake City Corporation (a municipality) as a Building Inspector. I was at this position until budget cuts required me to leave. After my education from UVSC I worked for _Quality Built of San Diego,_ a third party QC company, from June 2005 until Dec 2007, doing quality control inspections on construction sites. Interpreting blue prints, identifying risks for contractor, inspecting for proper code compliance in all phases of the construction (Concrete, Framing, Elec, HVAC, Plbg). Verify correction of risks and code violations. Upload reports to QB, deliver all reports to PM of site. Maintain files with reports. Train Subs on proper moisture prevention. My projects included work in all the states from Kansas west into the California coast, from the northern panhandle of Idaho (Coeur d'Alene) to Maricopa, AZ south. I developed a great working relationship with the project managers, superintendents, & different subs at the many projects assigned to me. I have over 35 years of construction experience, both residential & commercial, during which I acquired a vast knowledge of training and experience including: Interpreting blue prints perform framing and finish work as specified. Build & install custom designed closets, cabinetry, curved stair rail, custom fireplace mantles. Replace drywall, paint, move plumbing & electrical when needed, installation of commercial fixtures (metal valance, shelves, slot wall, glass doors, display racks, signs, compression seals, expansion joints, etc.) inside store (Circuit City---Riverdale, Fort Union, Orem, all in Utah: Anchor Bluea"Sacramento CA & Phoenix AZ), build Sound Demo rooms. While working for R.R. Donnelly & Sons (major national printing company), Reno, NV as a Stacker Technician, I was a member of a four man team that engineered timing increased overall advertising from 14% to 21%, and won the Nevada Press Association Award "For Most Improved Weekly Paper" and "Best Photo Layout" for 1983. For ten years my wife and I taught both Western Social and Line Dance for the Jordan School Continuing Education program.
