Call to Order: Board Secretary OPEN PUBLIC MEETING STATEMENT: This meeting is being held in conformity to the Open Public Meetings Act N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et. seq. Proper public notice of the meeting was published in the local papers on January 7, 2012 and January 8, 2012. If any Board member or member of the public in attendance believes that the meeting is in violation of the Open Public Meetings Act, the Hoboken Board of Education requests that they make a statement at this time. The Board wishes to make those in attendance aware that this meeting is being recorded on video and will be broadcast by the Board at a later date on CATV Channel 77. Appointment of Public Agency Compliance Officer: WHEREAS, in accordance with the N.J.A.C., the State of New Jersey division of Contract Compliance and Equal Employment Opportunity requires that each public agency annually designate an officer or employee to serve as its public agency compliance officer (hereafter P.A.C.O.), and WHEREAS, the Hoboken Board of Education has determined that the duties of the P.A.C.O. can be effectively and appropriately performed by the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary; and therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education hereby designates the Board Secretary as the Public Agency Compliance Officer (P.A.C.O.) in accordance with the provisions of N.J.A.C. 17:27-3.2.

RESOLUTION No. FI-0011-11-12 SUBJECT: ESTABLISHMENT OF EMERGENCY AT BRANDT SCHOOL RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education ratifies the declaration of an emergency by the Interim Business Administrator due to structural issues with the facade of the Brandt School effecting the health and safety of the Hoboken community, in accordance with the N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-7, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board approves the award of an emergency contract with T&M Contracting Company Inc. of Hoboken, New Jersey in an estimated amount of $58,000, to include emergency installation of the protective sidewalk bridge (erecting, dismantling, lights, rental of materials) and the determination of the extent of the problem in concert with the architect to determine the specifications for repair (includes the cost of the equipment to complete the site analysis); and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board approves an additional amount not to exceed $5,000 for the districts architect, Mount Vernon Group of Newark, NJ, for site visits and to provide the district a solution to the problems; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Business Administrator be authorized to submit the declaration of emergency to the Executive County Superintendent for approval.
