Dow is the largest producer of chlor-alkali in the world. Directed th e implementation of both facilities and new capacity capital for all of Dow`s ma nufacturing sites around the world (typically over $100 million/yr). Directed p lant expansion capital projects including project management of a new state of t he art 440 MTA chlorine plant in Freeport Tx. (1996 - 1999) * Led significant improvements in diaphragm cell technology, one of which improv ed global capacity by 260 million pounds per year with minimal capital investmen t. * Co-authored Dow`s Technology Management work process. * Developed Dow`s first technology strategic plan. * Certified as 6 Sigma management sponsor. Provided direction to numerous Black Belts in using 6 Sigma methodology to solve technical problems. Operations Manager, Western Canada Operations - Oversaw the efforts of Plant M anagers of four world scale plants (two chlor-alkali plants (1.3 billion pounds per year), one vinyl chloride plant (1 billion pounds per year), one power plant (200 Megawatt). (1993- 1996)

* Consolidated two chlor-alkali plants resulting in Dow`s premier manufacturing site in productivity and operational performance * Led the implementation of a new Dow oxy-chlorination reactor design and vinyl chloride distillation design. The result was a 25% capacity improvement with uni t capital half the previous experience in Dow. * Led the development of Dow`s first manufacturing work process. This new work process was implemented in all Dow manufacturing sites globally resulting in dra matic improvement in plant operations and operator productivity... * Led site re-engineering effort which de-layered the site from seven to three l ayers. * Led Site Issues Management Team responsible for chlorine issues and media comm unications. * Vice-Chairman, Canadian Chemical Producers Association, Alberta, Canada * Management sponsor of the local Community Advisory Panel. * Led the power plant to the highest levels of performance in the Dow system.
