Chapter Member Manual revised 2012

Nemenhah Chapter Member Manual Commissioned by the Elected Principle/Medicine Chief (EPMC) of the Nemenhah for the instruction and training of all Nemenhah Members in the privileges, rights, honors, responsibilities, obligations and duties of their calling. Forward As we enter the eleventh year of the Restored Nemenhah People, it seems reasonable that we stop and take stock in ourselves and our progress as a People. In what ways have we accomplished our objectives, and in what ways have we fallen short of our design. One of the areas in which it is almost universally agreed that we have dropped the ball has been in the area of training and inservice of our Members in the meaning and duties of their Ministerial Positions. This Manual is our first real attempt to do a better job in that regard. There has been a Chapter Member Manual on the Core Curriculum website for many years, but to be honest it has not been utilized by the Membership. We believe that the only reason for this lack is that the Nemenhah have never been required to understand their key position and their responsibilities. We, therefore, rescind and recall the old Manual and this new version, by directive of the Great Council of 2011, has been placed in the Sahaptan Guide Track of the Core Curriculum. The Core Curriculum has also been made mandatory for all Nemenhah. As with all manuals of discipline, the greater the extent to which you are able to apply the principles you will learn here to you daily healing activities, and to your active participation in Nemenhah culture and institutions, the easier it will be for you to represent and support your Sacred Walk and Sacred Talk. This is your responsibility and the time may come when you will have to instruct some Official in it. The purpose of all such manuals is to help the Disciple gain a level of competence in the discipline. We hope that this one will become a useful tool in your arsenal. This manual is an integral part of the Core Curriculum Module G1201 New Member Orientation. As you will notice about all the modules, there will be project assignments as you progress through the text, and please be prepared to take an exam at the end. You need to complete all the projects to the best of your ability, and dont give pat answers. Most of the projects are designed to help you formulate answers to questions that might be asked about the nature and scope of your calling as a Minister of the Nemenhah. You need to be able to answer those questions when

they are asked. If you give answers that do not adequately answer, your assignment will be returned to you to do over. Please use the following format when completing your projects: Your Name Date Track (Sahaptan Guide) Number (G1201) Project (number from Manual) Write your answers and comments. When you have completed an assignment, send it right in to: Nemenhah Admin Sahaptan Guide 6915 S. 1875 Rd., Humansville, MO 65674 Do this as you complete them. Dont wait till the end and send them all together. If you do that, your Mentor will send it all back to you. You will receive feedback only if your Mentor wants you to do additional work. If your Mentor feels you did well with a project, you will not receive feedback. Dont wait around for it. Go on to the next task. If you do receive feedback from your Mentor, you will have double work to do, so do your best the first time. When you have completed all the project assignments, proceed to the Exam. Answer every question on the Exam to the best of your ability. Be as complete as possible in your answers. You may use your own notes and homework in your answers, and of course, you may always use this manual. The Exam is Open Book. When you have completed all the work, and the Final Exam for the Module, your Mentor will request that Admin. send you a Certificate of Completion, a copy of which will be placed in your physical file. This is all the praise you need for completion of this phase of your training. Let me tell you why that is, when an Investigative Agent, Prosecutor or Judge ask you questions about your duties, responsibilities and obligations as a Nemenhah Medicine Person, if you have labored to create the answers before the fact, those answers will simply come to you, and that is what is truly worthy of praise. No amount of complements from your Mentor will ever amount to being able to explain in exact terms what it means to be a Member of the Nemenhah. Well, lets get started.

Section 1: Getting Started The first thing you need to understand is the nature and scope of your authority and your calling. Authority is important in any discipline. Without it there is no discipline, no order. So go to the website www.nemenhah.org and click on the Constitution.
