Introduction

The aim of this final project is to design the car rental online system to rent the car at car rental shop. The car rental online is using PHP programming tool. PHP is chosen since it gives more structured approach to user. The proposed automatic car rental online system will help to reduce the time and money in terms of requirement such as a saving time to make reservation for rent a car. Beside that, this system also is faster and appropriately to market need.

People who not having enough time to do others time probaly miss something that they want such to go holiday or went to emegency situation. The car rental system that we have now not friendly user. People need to go to the car rental shop to reserve the car while they can do that in their room.

The proposed car rental online system allow user to rent a car in faster ways using internet connection. The type of car and the payment will be shown and user needs to choose either of it. The user will enter they information detail such identity number, full name, no phone and address when ever they want rent the car.

The proposed car rental online system works, whenever user enters the car rental shop website and request the chosen car. The list of available car will appear with the amount of payment and deposit amount. Then, the system will ask user to fill the needed inform such what time it use and how many car that do they want. Then they need to enter the information detail so the shop can contact the user if theres something occurs. At the same time allow the employee to organize the unused car or the car that already reserve.

Problem Statement

The car rental system in car rental shop have to do by manual by people who went to the shop to reserve the car. It become problem if the car not available and people need to find another car rental shop.

The problem statement are :

1. The current car rental system is not user friendly. 2. The car rental system must do automatically because theres no data in computer for car rental system. 3. It is difficult when people want to rent the car need to come to the shop to reserve the car. 4. People who want to rent the car doesnt know if the car that they want to rent is still available or not. 5. It waste people times who want to rent the car especially Politeknik Muadzam Shah student who stay outside the Muadzam city.

Objective

Generally, objective of this project is to develop a online database system and car renta for car rental shop to reserve car rental by online. This system will process data data that receive from user keep it as database. After That the car list will be updates show only available car at certain time.

The objective of the project proposal :

1. To develop the user friendly car rental online system so that user see the list of available car and the payment for rented. 2. To develop manual system that user can easily reserve the car that they want to rent by online. 3. To saving user time for they to went out just to reserve the car.

Scope

The System Scope for car rental online system are for user around the country within Malaysia. User from all over Malaysia can reserve the car for rent. The system works for 24 hour by online.

The User Scope for car rental online system is target for Polytechnic Muadzam Shahs Student, Unitens student and resident around Muadzam Shah. But the person who want rent the car must have driving license. For cancellation process must be done 72 hour before day that has been set. User can cancel they reservation by surfing the car rental website page.

Project Significant

This car rental online system important for both side, user and employee. To the user this program save most of their time and money to go out. It allow user to make choice very cleary without waiting for long.

The job for employee become easier as the system will update automatically if theres reservation for the type of the car and the quantity of the car that available or that have been reserve.

Methodology

A information system that want to be develop usually specific to a organization. Development requirement methodically very system needed to overcome system failure. Among methodology or method that used for systems development is. In this project i use Rapid Application Development (RAD). RAD consists of four lifecycle stages that is Requirements Planning, User Design, Construction, and Implementation.

Requirements Planning phase combines elements of the system planning and systems analysis phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). User and employee agree on business needs, project scope, constraints, and system requirements. It ends when the team agrees on the key issues and obtains management authorization to continue. User design phase during this phase, users interact with systems analysis and develop models and prototypes that represent all system processes, inputs, and outputs. RAD use CASE tools to translate user needs into working models. User Design is a continuous interactive process that allows users to understand, modify, and eventually approve a working model of the system that meets their needs. Construction phase focuses on program and application development task similar to the SDLC. Users continue to participate and can still suggest changes or improvements as actual screens or reports are developed. Its tasks are programming and application development, coding, unit-integration and system testing. Cutover phase including data conversion, testing, changeover to the new system, and user training. Compared with traditional methods, the entire process is compressed. As a result, the new system is built, delivered, and placed in operation much sooner. Its tasks are data conversion, full-scale testing, system changeover, user training.

Conclusion

This project is based on web based application that allow user to reserve the car rent by online. The user can saving their time and money to went to shop to reserve the car. This application also shown the list of car that availabe at any time and the payment for rent the car.

This project will make the employee job easier to update the car the have been reserve and arrange the car for next reservation. This system can be reserve from all over Malaysia on 24 hour by online.

The system will show the list of car and the payment and user must enter the reservation date and for how long. Then the system will ask user to enter information detail so that theres wont be data which overlaps.

This project is use Rapid Application Development (RAD). Clearly Rapid Application Development is about more than just delivering applications as quickly as possible through user and employee.
