seeking individual and family happiness but a well-being consumption accompanying social responsibility and movements from environment friendly point of view is one of characteristics of Korean LOHAS people. Also, LOHAS can appear as 5 component part

1.Introduction The efforts to harmoniously combine high-tech control methods using diverse information technology with environment-friendly architecture focused on green zone environment have been made in domestic architecture world since 1990s. As studies on dwelling houses, mankind's most basic fixed places of residence, are highlighted in architecture sector, differentiation strategies such as environment-friendly, health, well-being apartments introducing concepts of smart home, environment-friendly, nature-friendly, human-friendly based on home network and home automation are being attempted in actual civil construction sector. Therefore, these attempts enable building users to enjoy the convenience of life and the richness of nature at the same time. This study purposes the application of LOHAS and smart technology concept to exterior space of apartment housing building type, which is uncommonly existed in Korea. The definition of the problems of current exterior space of apartment housing will be explored and a series of design approaches in urban design, urban planning, and landscape architecture will be also explored to suggest the new vision of exterior space in near future. 2. Theoretical consideration of LOHAS and Smart Technology 2.1 The concept of LOHAS LOHAS is an acronym for Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability and the market was originally identified in research conducted by Natural Business Communications (NBC) in 2000. LOHAS includes environment-friendly and reasonable consumption propensity and people who support it, and emphasizes a continuing life focused on the 'values of neighbors and descendents beyond the individual value' unlike the existing well-being focused on 'individual value.' It is a lifestyle seeking continuing social natural atmosphere with which mankind prospers together focused on the environment protection of the earth and mankind's health. The beginning of LOHAS in the US can be regarded as the beginning of well-being, but the majority of LOHAS people in Korea are hardly distinguished from environment friendly people because LOHAS was discussed as an alternative to overcome the previously introduced concept of well-being. Therefore, not a well-being as consumption activities

2.2 The concept of Smart Technology Mark Weiser at XEROX PARC suggested the Ubiquitous computing vision as a human-oriented computing technology in 1991 pointing out inconvenience in real life where people devote themselves to rater computer operation than work. With this as a momentum, the term of UC began to be used and later similar concepts such as U-life, Smart Living, Smart Home and Intelligent House began to emerge. As the high position concept including such concepts, the term of 'Smart Technology' is used. Smart Technology is composed of Ubiquity + Transparency and has two characteristics that it exists everywhere but is invisible. It means we live actually surrounded by computers though they are invisible and also means an environment where people use computers unconsciously like a part of their body. The goals sought by this technology are recognized as the key words such as Calm, Anywhere, Interactive, Tangible, and methods of environment recognition technology, mutual connection net technology, situation recognition technology and reaction creation technology are used to realize them.

3. The change of outdoor space of apartment houses using LOHAS and Smart Technology 3.1. The concept of outdoor space of apartment houses Facility standards of apartment complexes of Korea have been continuously revised according to the change of housing culture, the improvement in housing environment level required generally and housing construction state of a specific time. The present facility standards follow the regulations of housing construction standards newly established and announced in 1991. The most important and broad things in facility standards are about subsidiary welfare facilities, and the area and kinds of outdoor subsidiary welfare facilities are considered as an important part in the outdoor space plan of apartment houses. In apartment house complexes, subsidiary welfare facilities seek the minimum life convenience of residents and furthermore, they are facilities to improve the quality of life. 3.2 The change of outdoor space of apartment houses In Korea, apartment houses represented as apartment complexes began to be constructed to accommodate exploding population of cities according to rapid modernization before the development of new cities, but economic values were emphasized than environment by attaching importance to the security of social infrastructures. Therefore, external spaces were composed of minimum tree planting. In early 1990s, facility space and pedestrians' traffic lines began to be considered by the advent of hydroponic facilities in complexes, diversification of gardening materials and partial specialization in facilities, but they had weak points in construction and management because of specialization attempts not in the initial planing stage but at the time of completion. In the mid and late 1990s, environment friendliness emerged as a new issue by the differentiation of external space as unsold apartments appeared, so large scale squares and theme parks were established in apartment complexes without ground parking lots. Since 2000, diverse techniques such as sunken garden, ground/wall tree planting, roof garden, ecological pond have been introduced by the introduction of the concepts of 'ecology' and 'well-being' and constitution techniques of external space are being diversified by the development of facility systems. 3.3 Application method to outdoor space planning in apartment housing

4. Conclusion Traditional well-being and LOHAS are the concept for qualitative improvement of health and environment. On top of these, human-oriented smart technologies, which includes ubiquitous computing, will be throughly explored to design better living environment. The external space of apartment houses can be an important element to make modern smart apartment houses by continuously improving residents' life quality through environment established by effective elements. Connection urban space with housing complexes, realization of architecture space decorating external space, network construction for social conversation space and space by smart technology are good media to demolish closed and self-sufficient space constitution, therefore, the usefulness of external space will expand its meaning naturally and become an important value element to human life if those topics are realized. 5.
