Movie: Agneepath Director: Karan Malhotra Music Director: Ajay-Atul Producers: Karan Johar Cast and Crew: Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor, Om Puri. This new Agneepath is a remake of 1990 release Agneepath starring Millenium Actor Amithbh Bachchan, which fetched him a National film award for best actor. What a fantastic film it was. This film was named against a popualar poetry of Harivansh Rai Bachchan. There were tons of life time performances like Mithun Chakroborthy, Rohini Hattnagadi, Danny and a Vikram Ghokale. Mukul Anands one of the best creation. Hmm. this was all about the old 1990. Lets see this new movie how they have re-created it.. One big change in this new movie is there is no Krishnan Iyer MA (Mithun Chakraborty). Film rotates around a village called Mandva. Dinanath Chauhan is a school master in this village. One side, master wants uplift the village and other side Kancha (Sanjay Dutt) want to use this village for his all underworld activity. With help of some villagers Kancha sets up a scandle and finally vilagers lynch Deenanath Chauhan before his son Vijay or his wife Suhasini rescue him. After his father death, Vijay and Suhasini move to Mumbai. Where Vijay will use Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor) to reach a stage where he can take revenge to Kancha. In between lot of violence, lot of loud noise and a Katrinas hot song. Thats it. This is all about the new Agneepath. 1 Thumbs Up...... If at all I have to find something good about this new Agneepath is its background score by Atul-Ajay. It is thrilling, awesome, fantabulous. When you come out of auditorium only thing you will remember is its music and Katrina. Chikni chameli song is already a block buster, chart buster.

4 Thumbs Down.... Direction is horrible and rest follows it. Priyanka Chopras character is meaningless. Adding Rishi Kapoor as a Rauf lala did not helped and removing of Krishanan Iyer MA character also didnt help. Karan Malhotras rerecreated Agneepath is very ordinary revenge saga. Nothing more than this. It fails in all aspects. Its boring, slow, sanjay Dutt is good, but it doesnt make any sense just to show off as villain. Character should be strong enough to hold it like Gabbar singh and Mugambo. Hrithik is good but again the characterization is not powefull like Vijay Deenath chauhan which was created in 1990. While watching I was constantly telling myself not to compare it with the legendary piece however at least it should look like a movie. Other than spending lot of money and showing off characters it didnt do much.

Final Verdict. I am going with one out of five star for very dis-appointing Agneepath. With actors like Hrithik and Sanjay Dutt still this movie is disaster. Karan Johar should understand one thing, he is not a person, whatever he touches it will become gold. By casting big stars and spending money he cant make good movies. Karan Malhotra as director has to learn lot lot of things. One more thing I am not understanding actors like Sanjay dutt , how can he accept this kinds of roles. There is nothing in it. Bollywood should at least understand now that remaking such movies is not only difficult its impossible for them. Watch this movie only if you want to understand how you should not remake old Bollywood movies or if you are diehard fan of Hritik. Other than these 2, there is no reason to watch this movie and make your weekend disaster. Here is the very inspiring full poem of Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
