MOTION TO WITHDRAW REQUEST FOR SUBPOENAE
The HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, through its PROSECUTORS, moves to withdraw the
Request for Subpoenae dated 25 January 2012, and respectfully states that:
1. On 25 January 2012, the House of Representatives, through its Prosecutors, filed a
Request for Subpoenae Ad Testificandum and Subpoenae Duces Tecum to the following
persons:
a. The Manager of Bank of the Philippine Islands;
b. The Manager of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC);
c. The President or his/her authorized representative of the Philippine National Bank;
d. The President or his authorized representative of the Land Bank of the Philippines; and
e. The President or his/her authorized representative of the Bank of the Philippine Islands
Family Savings Bank.

2. It was further requested that the above-named persons bring with him/her original and
certified true copies of the Account Opening Form and Monthly Bank Statements of respondent
Renato Corona and Cristina Corona.
3. On 25 January 2012, the Impeachment Court rendered a decision regarding the
introduction of evidence that would support the allegations contained in Article II, paragraph
2.4 of the Impeachment Complaint.
4. The Impeachment Court further directed the Secretary of the Senate, acting as a Clerk
of Court, to prepare a formal resolution embodying the parameters of the said decision of the
Court.
5. So as not to saddle this Honorable Court, the Prosecution moves to withdraw the
Request for Subpoenae Ad Testificandum and Subpoenae Duces Tecum dated 25 January 2012
and await the issuance of the formal resolution of this Honorable Court regarding the
clarifications to its 25 January 2012 ruling.
6. This notwithstanding, the Prosecution reserves its right to file the appropriate Request
for specific bank accounts of Renato C. Corona and Cristina R. Corona at the proper time to
prove the allegations in paragraph 2.2 and 2.3 of the Impeachment Complaint that the
respondent failed to truthfully, honestly and accurately disclose his personal assets, which
include bank deposits, in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN).
PRAYER
WHEREFORE, premises considered, it is respectfully prayed that the Request for
Subpoenae Ad Testificandum and Subpoenae Duces Tecum dated 25 January 2012 be
WITHDRAWN with reservation to the right of the Prosecution to file the appropriate Request
for specific bank accounts of Renato C. Corona and Cristina R. Corona at the appropriate time.
Other just and equitable reliefs are likewise prayed for.
