AQUARYURI JRKO CORP., PHILIPPINES

Aquaryuri is the sole partner and exclusive distributor in the Philippines of the Jarikko Water Purification System of Aquatech Ltd. of Japan. The company was formed in 2009 in response to challenges of effective wastewater treatment in public installations like markets and slaughter houses and private businesses including restaurants, factories and shopping malls in the Philippines. Its mission is to provide cutting edge yet affordable technologies that could help government and private business rid the countrys water bodies of pollution as mandated by the Clean Water Act of 2004 and the Supreme Court ruling of 2008 ordering the comprehensive cleanup of the Manila Bay, the Pasig River and the Laguna Lake as well as all its tributaries.

AQUATECH LTD OF JAPAN

Aquatech was established in 1998 by Shunji Eto, the inventor of the Jarikko Water Purification System. It is a dominant force in the wastewater treatment industry in Japan. The company is primarily engaged in water quality management and has been successfully involved in cleaning numerous rivers, lakes and other water bodies. It has since expanded its operations abroad and has been engaged in wastewater treatment projects in Korea, China, Taiwan, the United States, Canada, and the European Union. Aquatech holds the patent

to the Jarikko system in Japan and in all those countries where its wastewater treatment plants are currently in operation.

THE JARIKKO WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM
The Jarikko Water Purification System is a low-cost, low maintenance wastewater treatment technology providing a sustainable yet highly- effective solution to the prevalence of high-strength pollution in water bodies. It is a new and revolutionary method, which replaces the antiquated
and more expensive Activated Sludge Method now being used in many parts of the Philippines. The Jarikko system is enclosed in a compact tank where solid organic matter is decomposed into gas (carbon dioxide and methane) and water.

Water purification is achieved by the repeated application of aerobic and anaerobic processes, which effectively reduce the Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) in the wastewater to international discharge standards.

At the core of the Jarikko Water Purification System is the Jarikko globe, which is mainly made up of gravel measuring 20-30mm in length, put together into a sphere which is 10cm in diameter.

Compression Strength Space Ratio Diameter

Over 200kgf Over 60% 10cm

As the wastewater flows into the Jarikko tank, solid organic matter is trapped inside the Jarikko globe where it is liquidized through the anaerobic process. After the Jarikko stones empty, solid organic matter is again trapped in it and the liquidation process is repeated. The process goes on and on until the BOD and the TSS of the wastewater reach acceptable levels.

1. Solid organic matter is trapped inside the Jarikko sphere. 2. The matter is liquidized by the aerobic and anaerobic processes. 3. The liquidized organic matter flows out of the sphere and the process repeats.

Because the system can be placed underground, space will not be a problem in the construction of the wastewater treatment plant. On top of the tank, livelihood projects can be implemented, such as a car wash, a paid parking lot, paid toilet lounges, a garden or a park where recycled water from the Jarikko system would be used.

COMPLETED PROJECTS USING THE JARIKKO SYSTEM

Excavation A concrete tank would capture running water if flooding occurred. Aeration of the Entire Cross Section Depending on the concentration of BOD, the aeration quantity changes. However, the aeration is always done over the entire cross section. Sludge removal is not necessary. Inorganic matter in the river water is flushed out. Water blowers are used so that a control tower is not necessary. Not necessary.

The Jarikko Purification System is most effective in the treatment of wastewater from industrial plants. This is because there is no sludge produced in the process of purifying the wastewater. The Jarikko System quickly liquefies all solid organic waste matter and reduces the BOD and the TSS. a

A 6-year-experiment has been undertaken for the treatment of sewage using the Jarikko system in several communities outside Tokyo. The result: sludge production has not occurred. The quality of treated water passes international discharge standards.
