First comedy of the season


Sylvia will be the first comedy for the theatre season, but also the last play for the semester
laughs out of this. Sylvia was written by A. R. Gurney and actresses like Sarah Jessica Parker have participated in this play. Sylvia is a play about a dog, the couple who adopts her, and the drama that results. Greg finds Sylvia, a dog played by a human, in the park and takes a liking to her. He brings her back to the empty nest he shares with Kate and the comedy and drama ensues. Sylvia was first produced in 1995. The play is centered around the Gregs character, who is going through a mid-life crisis. He gets a dog and kind of starts to Sylvia, a theatrical production that promises to bring comedy to the campus, will be at the Lab Theatre in the Drama Arts Building Nov. 16-19 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 18 and 21 at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door. Sylvia is first comedy of the semester and also the last play for a very successful semester for the A&M-Kingsville Theatre Program in the Communications Theatre Arts Department. A march will be held at 5:30 p.m. starting at College Hall. Guest speakers will be Shannon Baker from the History Department and Manuel Flores from the Communications Department. The event is organized by LULAC and the Pre-Law Society to help bring political attention to the proposed DREAM Act that will grant illegal aliens citizenship if they graduate from a U.S High School, are of good moral character, arrived in the U.S as minors and have been in the country for at least five years
