First Report of the Queensland Mental Health Commission Advisory Committee Second Round Consultation Invitation
On 11 October 2011, the Premier announced in Parliament that the Queensland Government would establish a Queensland Mental Health Commission to drive improved performance, coordination and transparency in the delivery of mental health services in Queensland. On Monday 30 January 2012, Professor Beverley Raphael, chair of the Advisory Committee set up to advise Government on the establishment of the Commission, formally presented the Committees First Report to the Premier. Based on the results of the first round of consultation, the First Report provides 14 recommendations to Government which outline a proposed organisational model for the new body. The First Report can be viewed at www.health.qld.gov.au/mentalhealth/commission.asp. As a key stakeholder, you are invited to attend a second round consultation session outlining the results of the first round of consultation and the Committees recommendations, and seeking your input into the implementation of these recommendations.
