President/Business Consultant 1989 - 2009 Managed the implementation of ERP systems at more than 40 companies over a 20 year period. Roughly half of these involved some custom programming. The rest were installed out of the box. I managed resources and scope for the custom programming projects. All of the projects involved my managing cost, risk, quality, and internal / external relationships. Most required my working with and managing cross functional teams. I conducted exit interviews to insure that the customers were pleased with the results. Some examples of our customers are: A solar powered lighting company with configuration of base systems. Production control and MRP modules for ink manufacturer. Other types of companies for whom I performed similar tasks were a laser etching manufacturer, an automotive parts manufacturer, and a state-of-the-art machining company. Managed the development of an in-house Discrete Manufacturing Software System by Maynard Rigby & Associates, Inc. for sale to future customers. There were four distinct projects, one for each module. All involved my defining and managing the scope. I also managed cost, resources, risk, and quality for all projects. In a business analyst role for these internal development projects I created a cross functional teams (including staff from future customers) and worked with them to gather requirements. A major requirement was that tis system interface properly with the accounting system we were using. Using those requirements I wrote specifications for our programming team. The design included: UI, data base fields / files, integration to an ERP system, and UAT. I created use cases and did most of the QA work. Other software modules (including Customer Service) and programs were developed in a similar manner by Maynard Rigby & Associates, Inc. and later by Maynard Software Solutions, Inc. I performed the same project manager and business analyst roles for these projects. Our internally developed software was sold to over 500 companies world-wide. Managed a number of custom programming projects that did not involved implementing software and were for specific customers. The largest ones were for National Pen, Guerdon Homes, and Camera World. I created and managed cross functional teams to define the scope of these projects and then managed the scope. A key priority of these CFTs was to insure that the custom software fulfilled their needs and also interfaced properly with their accounting and/or manufacturing system. My role in these projects involved managing the internal / external relationships. I also managed cost, resources, risk, and quality. In a business analyst role for these projects, I wrote the documentation and UAT guidelines, and then received customer approval on the project. I also wrote the system specifications for the development team. Following completion I conducted sign off meetings.

Additional Major Projects

Performed project manager and business analyst tasks on the following: Managed software development for medical / dental back office systems at three different companies. Managed software development for an annuity contract capture system for a subsidiary of John Alden Life insurance. This product was quickly adopted by the parent company and other subsidiaries. Project leader in the IT department of a large retail chain. I was part of a team that designed and developed a warehouse management system. Created a program to track fulfillment information for a marketing company. Created a system to track and report on test data for electrical black boxes on B-1 aircraft.

Areas of Excellence
I enjoy and excel in analyzing needs, data, charts, etc and then solving the associated problems. Other tasks which I enjoy and excel in are translating requirements into design specifications, performing data analysis, and resolving conflicts between team members. The recommendations section of my Linked In profile includes: He has a positive attitude and a willingness to listen carefully to get the job done as per the customer's requirements.
