MPhil Degree in the Computer Science / IT etc with fifty-five percent marks OR Master's degree or an equivalent degree from any University or a recognized Institute of higher learning in any relevant branch of Science / Engineering & technology with at least 60 percent marks OR The candidates having Master s degree in any subject with Doctor of Philosophy in Computer & minimum seventy percent marks with sufficient background in the area of computer science / IT, may also be considered. However, the Information Science (PhD in admission cases in this category will be recommended by a SubComputer & Information Science) Committee on the basis of the performance in a seminar to be given by the candidate in the area of research after the entrance test. OR A batch in Computer Science/Information Technology with seventy percent marks with five (5) years of experience either in teaching or in the software industry, may also be considered. Candidates of this category will have to undertake course work before registration in the PhD programme. A candidate with an MPhil Degree in the relevant discipline, with minimum fifty-five percent marks (fifty percent marks for SC/ST/PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from a recognised university or an institution of higher learning need not undertake the course work. Those who have completed MPhil. Those who have five (5) years of relevant teaching/ research experience. Students have to complete the course work worth 32 credits before registering for the Ph.D. programme. Those with an M Phil degree are exempted from the course work. Students with an MPhil degree are required to present a PhD proposal which will be approved by the Doctoral Committee. They will be registered for the PhD Programme only if the proposal is approved by the Doctoral Committee. Those not having MPhil can pursue PhD by successfully completing 32 credits worth of course work. MPhil in the relevant subject/allied discipline from a recognised university/recognised institution of higher learning OR 5 years of teaching/industry/administration/professional experience at senior level and having made a demonstrable contribution. One also needs to have fifty-five percent marks in Post-Graduation (fifty percent in case of SC/ST), with course work or Master in Tourism or related discipline with fifty-five percent of marks. (This category will have to do course work).
