ADMINISTRATORS NOTES
The Village Board met for its regular meeting on February 6 th to a full agenda. Trempealeau Chamber President Jean Galasinski led off the meeting with an exciting report on the news and events the Chamber is involved with. She also reported that room tax collections are good and noted how those funds are used to promote Trempealeau. Full event details can be found at www.trempealeau.net. The Board is in the process of hiring a new assessor. Eric Wheeler will continue as Village Assessor until the Board of Review in May. We thank him for his years of service to the Village and wish him all the best as he pursues his many hobbies and interests. The Village sent out requests for proposals in December and received six excellent responses. Of those responses the Board interviewed Eric Kleven, Jerry Kins and Kevin Irwin all from Eau Claire. Reference checks and further discussion will take place at the February COW meeting with a final decision to be made at the March regular Board meeting. In other business, the Board approved the following: mutual aid agreement with the Town of Trempealeau, hiring Nicholas Scholl as a part time police officer, kennel license renewal for Paul and Holly Haug, operators licenses and a temporary alcohol permit for the Friends of the Librarys annual Taste of Trempealeau. The next regular Village Board meeting is Monday, March 5th at 7:00 PM.

POLICE BLOTTER
Can we find you in an EMERGENCY? In an emergency, police, fire, and paramedics depend on house numbers to find someone as quickly as possible. Finding your home or business - especially at night - can be challenging if address numbers are unreadable, hidden, unlighted or have missing numbers and may delay emergency responders from getting to you as quickly as possible. Are your house numbers visible from the street? Are they set on a background of contrasting color? If your house is hidden from the street, are your numbers attached to a visible fence, mailbox or gate? Is your mobile home identified with your house number? If you live on a corner, does your house number face the street named in your address? If you've answered "no" to any of these questions, please follow the guidelines below to make sure your house number is easy to read: 1. Numbers must be visible from the street. The numbers need to be
at least 3 1/2 inches high. 2. Numbers should be placed on a contrasting background, with a reflective coating on the numbers for easy visibility at night. 3. Repair or replace aging address number placards, especially on mailboxes that are a distance from the front of the residence. 4. Prune any bushes, tree limbs or other growth that has covered your house numbers. 5. Numbers should be placed on or beside the front door. If your door is not easily seen from the street, put the numbers on a post, fence or tree at the driveway entrance so they can be clearly seen from the street. 6. If the entrance is more than 50 feet from the street, or cannot be seen from the street, a second set of numbers should also be displayed on the mailbox or on a post at the street or end of drive. The police department is asking residents to walk out in the street and see if your house numbers can be easily seen. Do this at night time as well. If you have any questions, I would be more than willing to suggest possible solutions. If you need to buy or replace your old numbers, you may purchase new numbers at the Village Hall.
