* estimate subject to change + after the release indicated, but before the next release Definitions:
Node-locked activation A node-locked activation file locks the software activation to a computer using a Host ID. A Host ID is a code associated with a particular hardware device such as a hard disk serial number or a hardware dongles ID. Concurrent activation A concurrent activation locks the software activation to a computer on which the FactoryTalk Activation server is installed. The activation server manages a pool of activations and shares them with client computers over a network connection. Client computers must be configured to search for activations on the activation server. An activation file is not required on each client computer. Capacity-based activation Capacity-based activation, is a type of concurrent activation that is based on some defined capacity of the product, such as tag count, number of users, or number of client computers.
