Course requirements Graduate students who are eligible for selecting the course Attendance Students need to attend all the classes and do the project to pass the course, and are responsible for the material covered in any class that they miss. Assignment and make-up policies: Late homework will not be graded. There will be no make-up exams except some very special cases (doctor and department chairs proofs should be provided). Disabilities Individuals who have any disability, either permanent or temporary, which might affect their ability to perform in this class, are encouraged to inform the instructor timely. Adaptation of methods, materials, or testing may be made as required to provide for equitable participation. Notes 1. All exams will be open lecture notes and open homework solutions (solved by students themselves). The grades of exams will be based on the detailed steps of solutions and/or program script, not just answers. 2. Anyone giving or receiving any unauthorized information during an examination will be given failing grade for the exam. 3. Part of the course materials is available on WebCT. Students need to login into WebCT with the authorized ID and password. 4. Since the instructor will leave for AIChE National Annual Meeting (Nov. 4 Nov. 9), there will be no class during that week. An exam may be held or the students will be assigned to work on the project.
