LETTER from BISHOP PETER CONNORS
I have asked the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XV1, to accept my resignation from the office of Bishop of Ballarat, giving him several reasons why my resignation should take effect as soon as possible after my 75th birthday, 6th March. For this reason, I have decided not to draw up a list of parishes where I might visit for Pastoral Visitations. However, I shall endeavour to visit parishes where there has been a change of Parish Priests in recent times or parishes where there may be special events to which you may care to invite me. I delegate all Parish Priests and Administrators to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation within the boundaries of their Parishes in 2012.

PREPARING for EASTER

As in previous years our Catholic community is joining with the Anglican and Uniting Churches during the Season of Lent as a way to prepare for the Great Feast of Easter. This years program Towards the Light is designed once again to be used by small groups. These groups will meet weekly. If you are interested in joining a group see the Notice Board for venues and times of meetings. Please place your contact details on the list provided and indicate which group you wish to join. The booklet is also excellent for personal prayer and reflection. Lent commences on Ash Wednesday (22nd February) Meetings: Wednesday: Pastoral Leadership Team (Gathering Space) at 7.30pm Thursday: CWL Meeting (Meeting Room) at 10.30am Thursday: Liturgy Committee (Gathering Space) at 7.30pm Centacare: This arm of the Catholic Church is offering various programs to the community eg Family Relationship Services Program, Parenting Program and Personal Development. St Josephs Playgroup: Mums, dads, grandparents, carers and children are welcome to join Play-Group each Tuesday from 10am till 12noon (Scout Hall).
