Quick Start
To attach the DiamondPoint LCD monitor to your system, follow these instructions:
1. Turn off the power to your computer. 2. Connect the audio cable to AUDIO INPUT on the back of the monitor and the other end to the Audio out terminal of the computer (Figure A.1). 3. Remove cable cover. For the PC or MAC with DVI digital output: Connect the DVI signal cable (not included) to the connector of the display card in your system (Figure B.1). Tighten all screws. For the PC with Analog output: Connect the 15-pin mini D-SUB signal cable to the connector of the display card in your system (Figure B.2). Tighten all screws. For the MAC: Connect the DiamondPoint Macintosh cable adapter to the computer, then attach the 15-pin mini D-SUB signal cable to the DiamondPoint Macintosh cable adapter (Figure C.1). Tighten all screws. NOTE: To obtain the DiamondPoint Macintosh cable adapter, call NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America, Inc. at (800) 632-4662. 4. Connect the 15-pin mini D-SUB of the video signal cable and DVI signal cable (not included) to the appropriate connector on the back of the monitor (Figure D.1). 5. Connect one end of the power cord to the DiamondPoint LCD Series monitor and the other end to the power outlet. Place the Audio Cable, Video Signal Cable and power cord under Cable cover (Figure D.1). Replace cable cover. NOTE: If you use this monitor at AC125-240V, please refer to Recommended Use section of this manual for proper selection of power cord. 6. Headphones may be connected to the Headphones output on the front of the monitors bezel marked (Figure E.1). While the headphones are connected, the sound from the speakers will be disabled. Headphones can be purchased from your local electronics store. NOTE: Adjust position of cable that place under cable cover, to avoid damage for cable or monitor. 7. The vacation switch on the right side of the monitor must be turned on (Figure F.1). Turn on the monitor with the front power button and the computer. NOTE: The vacation switch is a true on/off switch. If this switch is on the OFF position, the monitor cannot be turned on using the front button. DO NOT switch on/off repeatedly. 8. Analog input only. No-touch Auto Adjust automatically adjusts the monitor to optimal settings upon initial setup for most timings. For further adjustments, use the following OSD controls: Auto Adjust Contrast Auto Adjust Refer to the Controls section of this User s Manual for a full description of these OSD controls.
NOTE: For download information on the Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP INF file for your DiamondPoint monitor, refer to the References section of this Users Manual. NOTE: If you have any problems, please refer to the Troubleshooting section of this Users Manual.

Tilt and swivel
Grasp both sides of the monitor screen with your hands and adjust the tilt and swivel as desired (Figure TS.1). NOTE: NXM56LCD does not have the swivel function.

Cable Management setup for tilt and swivel

Damage can occur to the connection cables if not setup properly while operating the tilt or swivel feature. Please follow these steps to insure the correct cable setup. 1. When setting up your connection cables, be sure to leave the stopper and ferrite core above the cable cover (Figure TS.2). 2. Gently test the tilt/swivel function, insuring that there is no tension pull of the cables.

Remove Monitor Stand for Mounting

To prepare the monitor for alternate mounting purposes: 1. Disconnect all cables. 2. Place monitor face down on a non-abrasive surface (Figure R.1). 3. Remove the hinge cover (Figure R.1).

4. Remove the 4 screws connecting the monitor to the stand and lift off the stand assembly (Figure R.2). The monitor is now ready for mounting in an alternate manner. 5. Connect the AC cord and signal cable to the back of the monitor (Figure R.3). 6. Reverse this process to reattach stand. NOTE: Use only VESA-compatible alternative mounting method. NOTE: Handle with care when removing monitor stand.

This LCD monitor is designed for use with a flexible arm. Please use the attached screws (4pcs) as shown in the picture when installing. To meet fhe safety requirements, the monitor must be mounted to an arm which guaranties the necessary stability under consideration of the weight of the monitor. The LCD monitor should only be used with an approved arm (e.g. GS mark).

Controls
OSD (On-Screen Display) control buttons on the front of the monitor function as follows: To access OSD menu, press any of the control buttons ( < , > , , +, EXIT). To change signal input, press the SELECT button. NOTE: OSD must be closed in order to change signal input. Menu

Exits the OSD controls. Exits to the OSD main menu. Moves the highlighted area left/right to select control menus. Moves the highlighted area up/down to select one of the controls. Moves the bar left/right to increase or decrease the adjustment. Active Auto Adjust function. Enter the OSD controls. Enter the OSD sub menu. Resets the highlighted control menu to the factory setting. When no OSD menu is shown, the speaker sound will be muted.

NOTE: When RESET is pressed in the main and sub-menu, a warning window will appear allowing you to cancel the RESET function by pressing the EXIT button.
Sound
Volume Control the sound volume of speakers and headphone. To mute the speaker sound, press the MUTE key.
Brightness/Contrast Controls
BRIGHTNESS Adjusts the overall image and background screen brightness. CONTRAST Adjusts the image brightness in relation to the background.
AUTO
AUTO (Analog input only) Adjusts the image displayed for non-standard video inputs. Automatically adjusts the Image Position and H. Size settings and Fine settings.

LEFT / RIGHT Controls Horizontal Image Position within the display area of the LCD. DOWN / UP Controls Vertical Image Position within the display area of the LCD. H.SIZE Adjusts the horizontal size by increasing or decreasing this setting. FINE Improves focus, clarity and image stability by increasing or decreasing this setting. 8

AccuColor Control Systems
AccuColor Control Systems: Six color presets select the desired color setting (sRGB and NATIVE color presets are standard and cannot be changed). R,G,B: Increases or decreases Red, Green or Blue color depending upon which is selected. The change in color will appear on screen and the direction (increase or decrease) will be shown by the bars. NATIVE: Original color presented by the LCD panel that is unadjustable. sRGB: sRGB mode dramatically improves the color fidelity in the desktop environment by a single standard RGB color space. With this color supported environment, the operator could easily and confidently communicate color without further color management overhead in the most common situations.
Tools
LANGUAGE: OSD control menus are available in seven languages. OSD Position: You can choose where you would like the OSD control image to appear on your screen. Selecting OSD Location allows you to manually adjust the position of the OSD control menu left, right, down or up. OSD TURN OFF: The OSD control menu will stay on as long as it is in use. In the OSD Turn Off submenu, you can select how long the monitor waits after the last touch of a button to shut off the OSD control menu. The preset choices are 10, 20, 30, 45, 60 and 120 seconds. OSD LOCK OUT: This control completely locks out access to all OSD control functions without Mute, Sound Volume, Brightness and Contrast. When attempting to activate OSD controls while in the Lock Out mode, a screen will appear indicating the OSD controls are locked out. To activate the OSD Lock Out function, press SELECT, then + key and hold down simultaneously. To de-activate the OSD Lock Out, press SELECT, then + key and hold down simultaneously. RESOLUTION NOTIFIER (NXM56LCD): This optimal resolution is 1024 x 768. If ON is selected, a message will appear on the screen after 30 seconds, notifying you that the resolution is not at 1024 x 768. RESOLUTION NOTIFIER (NXM76LCD): This optimal resolution is 1280 x 1024. If ON is selected, a message will appear on the screen after 30 seconds, notifying you that the resolution is not at 1280 x 1024. HOT KEY: You can adjust the sound volume and brightness directly. When this function is set to ON, you can adjust the sound volume with + or , brightness with < or > key, while the OSD menu is off. OFF TIMER: Monitor will automatically power-down when the end user has selected a pre-determined amount of time. FACTORY PRESET: Selecting Factory Preset allows you to reset all OSD control settings back to the factory settings. The RESET button will need to be held down for several seconds to take effect. Individual settings can be reset by highlighting the control to be reset and pressing the RESET button. 9

DISPLAY MODE: Indicates the current display resolution and frequency setting of the monitor. MONITOR INFO.: Indicates the model and serial numbers of your monitor. OSD Warning: OSD Warning menus disappear with Exit button. NO SIGNAL: This function gives a warning when there is no signal present. After power is turned on or when there is a change of input signal or video is inactive, the No Signal window will appear. RESOLUTION NOTIFIER: This function gives a warning of use with optimized resolution. After power is turned on or when there is a change of input signal or the video signal doesnt have proper resolution, the Resolution Notifier window will open. This function can be disabled in the TOOL menu. OUT OF RANGE: This function gives a recommendation of the optimized resolution and refresh rate. After the power is turned on or there is a change of input signal or the video signal doesnt have proper timing, the Out Of Range menu will appear.

Recommended Use
Safety Precautions and Maintenance FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE, PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING WHEN SETTING UP AND USING THE DIAMONDPOINT COLOR MONITOR:
DO NOT OPEN THE MONITOR. There are no user serviceable parts inside and opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous shock hazards or other risks. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Do not spill any liquids into the cabinet or use your monitor near water. Do not insert objects of any kind into the cabinet slots, as they may touch dangerous voltage points, which can be harmful or fatal or may cause electric shock, fire or equipment failure. Do not place any heavy objects on the power cord. Damage to the cord may cause shock or fire. Do not place this product on a sloping or unstable cart, stand or table, as the monitor may fall, causing serious damage to the monitor. When operating the DiamondPoint LCD monitor with its AC 125-240V power supply, use a power supply cord that matches the power supply voltage of the AC power outlet being used. The power supply cord you use must have been approved by and comply with the safety standards of your country. (Type H05VV-F should be used in Europe) In UK, use a BS-approved power cord with molded plug having a black (5A) fuse installed for use with this monitor. If a power cord is not supplied with this monitor, please contact your supplier. Do not place any objects onto the monitor and do not use the monitor outdoors. The inside of the fluorescent tube located within the LCD monitor contains mercury. Please follow the bylaws or rules of your municipality to dispose of the tube properly. Immediately unplug your monitor from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions: When the power supply cord or plug is damaged. If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the monitor. If the monitor has been exposed to rain or water. If the monitor has been dropped or the cabinet damaged. If the monitor does not operate normally by following operating instructions. Do not bend power cord. Do not use monitor in high temperatured, humid, dusty, or oily areas. If glass is broken, handle with care. Do not cover vent on monitor. If monitor or glass is broken, do not come in contact with the liquid crystal and handle with care. Allow adequate ventilation around the monitor so that heat can properly dissipate. Do not block ventilated openings or place the monitor near a radiator or other heat sources. Do not put anything on top of monitor. The power cable connector is the primary means of detaching the system from the power supply. The monitor should be installed close to a power outlet which is easily accessible. Handle with care when transporting. Save packaging for transporting.
CAUTION
Image Persistence Image persistence is when a residual or ghost image of a previous image remains visible on the screen. Unlike CRT monitors, LCD monitors image persistence is not permanent, but constant images being displayed for a long period of time should be avoided. To alleviate image persistence, turn off the monitor for as long as the previous image was displayed. For example, if an image was on the monitor for one hour and a residual image remains, the monitor should be turned off for one hour to erase the image. NOTE: As with all personal display devices, NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display recommends using a moving screen saver at regular intervals whenever the screen is idle or turning off the monitor when not in use.

CORRECT PLACEMENT AND ADJUSTMENT OF THE MONITOR CAN REDUCE EYE, SHOULDER AND NECK FATIGUE. CHECK THE FOLLOWING WHEN YOU POSITION THE MONITOR: For optimum performance, allow 20 minutes for warm-up. Adjust the monitor height so that the top of the screen is at or slightly below eye level. Your eyes should look slightly downward when viewing the middle of the screen. Position your monitor no closer than 16 inches and no further away than 28 inches from your eyes. The optimal distance is 20 inches. Rest your eyes periodically by focusing on an object at least 20 feet away. Blink often. Position the monitor at a 90 angle to windows and other light sources to minimize glare and reflections. Adjust the monitor tilt so that ceiling lights do not reflect on your screen. If reflected light makes it hard for you to see your screen, use an anti-glare filter. Clean the LCD monitor surface with a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Avoid using any cleaning solution or glass cleaner! Adjust the monitors brightness and contrast controls to enhance readability. Use a document holder placed close to the screen. Position whatever you are looking at most of the time (the screen or reference material) directly in front of you to minimize turning your head while you are typing. Avoid displaying fixed patterns on the monitor for long periods of time to avoid image persistence (after-image effects). Get regular eye checkups.
Ergonomics To realize the maximum ergonomics benefits, we recommend the following: Use the preset Size and Position controls with standard signals Use the preset Color Setting Use non-interlaced signals with a vertical refresh rate between 60-75Hz Do not use primary color blue on a dark background, as it is difficult to see and may produce eye fatigue to insufficient contrast

The monitors small footprint and low weight allow it to be moved or transported easily from one location to another. AccuColor Control Systems: a optimized color management standard which allows for color matching on computer displays and other peripherals. AccuColor, which is based on the calibrated color space, allows for optimal color representation and backward compatibility with other common color standards. Troubleshooting
No picture The signal cable should be completely connected to the display card/computer. The display card should be completely seated in its slot. Check the Vacation Switch should be in the ON position. Front Power Switch and computer power switch should be in the ON position. Check to make sure that a supported mode has been selected on the display card or system being used. (Please consult display card or system manual to change graphics mode.) Check the monitor and your display card with respect to compatibility and recommended settings. Check the signal cable connector for bent or pushed-in pins.
Power Button does not respond Unplug the power cord of the monitor from the AC outlet to turn off and reset the monitor. Check the Vacation Switch on the right side of the monitor. Image Persistence Image persistence is when a residual or ghost image of a previous image remains visible on the screen. Unlike CRT monitors, LCD monitors image persistence is not permanent, but constant images being displayed for a long period of time should be avoided. To alleviate image persistence, turn off the monitor for as long as the previous image was displayed. For example, if an image was on the monitor for one hour and a residual image remains, the monitor should be turned off for one hour to erase the image. NOTE: As with all personal display devices, NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display recommends using a moving screen saver at regular intervals whenever the screen is idle or turning off the monitor when not in use. Image is unstable, unfocused or swimming is apparent Signal cable should be completely attached to the computer. Use the OSD Image Adjust controls to focus and adjust display by increasing or decreasing the FINE control. When the display mode is changed, the OSD Image Adjust settings may need to be re-adjusted. Check the monitor and your display card with respect to compatibility and recommended signal timings. If your text is garbled, change the video mode to non-interlace and use 60Hz refresh rate. LED on monitor is not lit (no green or amber color can be seen) Power Switch should be in the ON position and power cord should be connected. Display image is not sized properly Use the OSD Image Adjust controls to increase or decrease the H. SIZE. Check to make sure that a supported mode has been selected on the display card or system being used. (Please consult display card or system manual to change graphics mode.)

Troubleshooting continued
No Video If no video is present on the screen, turn the Power button off and on again. Make certain the computer is not in a power-saving mode (touch the keyboard or mouse). No Sound Check to see if speaker cable is properly connected. Check to see if mute is activated. Check to see if volume in OSD is set at minimum.

NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America, Inc. (hereinafter NMD-A) warrants this Product to be free from defects in material and workmanship and, subject to the conditions set forth below, agrees to repair or replace (at NMD-As sole option) any part of the enclosed unit which proves defective for a period of one (1) year from the date of first consumer purchase. Mise en marche rapide

Pour raccorder le moniteur DiamondPoint au systme, suivez les directives ciaprs:
1. Mettez lordinateur hors tension. 2. Branchez le cble daudio aux AUDIO INPUT larrire du moniteur et lautre extrmit la prise de sortie audio fichesur lordinateur (Figure A.1). 3. Retirez le cache-connecteurs au dos du moniteur. Pour un PC ou un Mac quip dune sortie numrique DVI :Branchez le cble DVI-D -DVI-D (non fourni) au connecteur de la carte graphique de votre ordinateur (Figure B.1). Serrez toutes les vis. Pour un PC quip dune sortie analogique :Branchez le cble de signal mini-connecteur D-SUB 15 broches-DVI au connecteur de la carte graphique de votre systme (Figure B.2). Serrez toutes les vis. Pour un Macintosh :Branchez ladaptateur de cble pour Macintosh du DiamondPoint lordinateur. Branchez le cble signal mini D-SUB 15 broches ladaptateur de cble DiamondPoint pour Macintosh (Figure C.1). Serrez toutes les vis. NOTA : Pour obtenir un adaptateur de cble Macintosh pour le DiamondPoint appelez NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America, Inc. au (800) 632-4662. 4. Enlevez la gaine de cble. Connectez le mini D-SUB 15 broches du cble de signal vido et du cble de signal DVI (non inclus) au connecteur appropri larrire du moniteur (Figure D.1). 5. Connectez une extrmit du cble dalimentation sur ladaptateur AC et lautre extrmit sur la prise de secteur. Placez le cble audio, le cble de signal vido et le cordon dalimentation sous la gaine de cble (Figure D.1). Remplace connecteur tui et tui cable. NOTA : Si vous utilisez ce moniteur AC125-240V, s'il vous plat faites rfrence section de l'Usage Recommande de ce manuel pour slection adquate d'AC pouvoir cordon. 6. Connectez une couteur couteur fiche devant le moniteur biseau marqu (Figure E.1). Lorsque la fiche du casque dcoute est insre dans la prise du casque dcoute, les hautparleurs sont dbranchs automatiquement et le son se fait entendre travers les couteurs. Vous pouvez vous procurer une couteur chez votre magasin dlectroni-que local. NOTA : Disposez les cbles dans les fixations de telle sorte viter toute dtrioration des cbles proprement dits ou du moniteur. 7. LInterrupteur de Vacances sur le ct droit de lcran doit tre allumai (Figure F.1). Allume lcran de Silhouette de bouton et lordinateur. NOTA : L'interrupteur de dsactivation permanente est un vrai interrupteur marche/arrt. Lorsque cet interrupteur est en position OFF (arrt), le moniteur ne peut pas tre allum en utilisant la touche avant. NE PAS commuter entre les positions marche/arrt rptitions. 8. Sils ne sont pas installs correctement, les cables de connexion peuvent tre endommags pendant linclinaison ou le pivot. Afin dassurer une bonne mise en place procdez de la suivante: 1. Lors de lajustement des cables de connexion, vrifiez que le taquet et lanneau de ferrite se situent audessus du couvercle de protection des cables (Figure TS.2). 2. Testez doucement la fonction inclinaison/pivot en vous assurant quil ny a pas de tension sur les cables.

Commandes
Les boutons de rglage OSD situs sur lavant du moniteur fournissent les fonctions suivantes : Pour accder au menu OSD, appuyez sur une des touches de commande (< , > , , +, EXIT). Pour changer lentre du signal, appuyez sur le bouton SELECT. REMARQUE: Le menu OSD doit tre ferm pour pouvoir modifier le signal dentre.
Menu principal EXIT </> Quitte les commandes OSD. Revient au menu principal OSD. Dplace la zone en surbrillance vers la gauche ou la droite pour choisir un menu de commande. Dplace la zone en surbrillance vers le haut ou vers le bas pour choisir lune des commandes. Dplace la barre vers la gauche ou la droite pour augmenter ou diminuer le rglage. Active la fonction de rglage automatique. Entrez les commandes OSD. Entrez le sous-menu de OSD. Rinitialise le menu de commandes en surbrillance aux rglages dusine. Quand menu aucun de OSD est transparu, le locuteur sonne tre muted.

PRRGLAGE USINE : Cette fonction vous permet de remettre tous les paramtres de lOSD leur tat dorigine. Une fentre dalerte vous demandera de confirmer si vous dsirez rappeller tous les rglages usine. Les rglages individuels peuvent tre rinitialiss en mettant en surbrillance la commande rinitialiser, puis en appuyant sur le bouton RESET.
Information
MODE DAFFICHAGE : Indique le courant de laffichage rsolution et frquences mettant de lcran. INFORMATION CRAN : Le numro du modle et le numro de srie y sont indigus.
Avertissement OSD: OSD prmunissant menu disparat sur Exit bouton. PAS DE SIGNAL: Cette fonctionne vous avertit de labsence de signal. Aprs la mise sous tension ou si le signal dentre a t chang ou si la vido est inactive, la fentre PAS DE SIGNAL saffiche. ERREUR RESOLUTION : Cette fonction vous met en garde contre lutilisation de la rsolution optimale. Aprs la mise sous tension ou si le signal dentre a t chang ou si le signal vido ne prsente pas la rsolution approprie, la fentre Resolution Notifier window souvre. Cette fonction peut tre dsactive dans le menu Outils. HORS LIMITE : Cette fonction recommande la rsolution et la frquence de rafrachissement optimales. Consignes de scurit et dentretien POUR UN FONCTIONNEMENT OPTIMAL, PRIRE DE NOTER CE QUI SUIT POUR LE RGLAGE ET L'UTILISATION DU MONITEUR COULEUR DIAMONDPOINT LCD :
NE PAS OUVRIR LE MONITEUR. Aucune pice intrieure ne ncessite l'intervention de l'utilisateur, et l'ouverture ou la dpose des couvercles peut entraner des risques de dcharges lectriques dangereuses ou d'autres risques. Confier tous travaux du personnel technique qualifi. Ne pas renverser de liquides dans le botier, ni utiliser le moniteur prs de l'eau. Ne pas introduire d'objets de quelque nature que ce soit dans les fentes du botier car ceux-ci pourraient toucher des endroits sous tension dangereuse, ce qui peut provoquer des blessures, voire tre fatal, ou peut occasionner une dcharge lectrique, un incendie ou une panne de l'appareil. Ne pas placer d'objets lourds sur le cordon d'alimentation. Un cordon endommag peut occasionner une dcharge lectrique ou un incendie. Ne pas placer cet appareil sur un chariot, un support ou une table incline ou instable, afin d'viter que le moniteur ne tombe, occasionnant de srieux dommages au moniteur. Pour l'utilisation du moniteur DiamondPoint LCD avec l'alimentation AC mondiale de 125-240 V, utiliser un cordon d'alimentation qui correspond la tension de l'alimentation fournie la prise de courant AC. Le cordon d'alimentation utilis doit tre agr et en conformit avec les normes de scurit de son pays. (Type H05VV-F utiliser sauf au Europe.) Au R, U., utilisez avec ce moniteur un cordon dalimrntation approuv BS avec fiche moule dun fusible noir (5A). Si un cordon dalimentation na pas t fourni avec ce moniteur, veuillez contacter votre fournisseur. Ne placer aucun objet sur le moniteur et ne pas lutiliser en extrieur. Lintrieur du tube fluorescent situ dans le moniteur contient du mercure. Pour llimination approprie, observez les rglements en vigueur dans votre rgion. Dbrancher immdiatement le moniteur de la prise murale et confier la rparation du personnel technique qualifi dans les cas suivants : Lorsque le cordon d'alimentation ou la fiche est endommag(e). Si du liquide a t renvers ou des objets sont tombs l'intrieur du moniteur. Si le moniteur a t expos la pluie ou de l'eau. Si le moniteur est tomb ou le botier est endommag. Si le moniteur ne fonctionne pas normalement en suivant les directives d'utilisation. Ne courbe pas le pouvoir du cordon. Nutilise pas votre cran dans de hautes tempratures humides poussireuses prs dhuile ou. Ne couvre pas larmoire fente ou usage rayonnai mauvaise chaleur. Regal toujours glass sur soin. Si cran ou verre est rod, ne supporter pas ne venir pas touche le liquide crystal et manche sur soin. Prvoir une aration suffisante autour du moniteur pour que la chaleur puisse se dissiper correctement. Ne pas obstruer les ouvertures de ventilation ni placer le moniteur prs d'un radiateur ou autre source de chaleur. Ne rien poser sur le moniteur. La fiche du cordon d'alimentation est le moyen principal de dbrancher le systme de l'alimentation. Le moniteur doit tre install proximit d'une prise de courant facilement accessible. AVERTISSEMENT Manipuler avec soin lors du transport. Conserver l'emballage pour le transport. Persistance de limage la persistance de limage se prsente lorsquune image rsiduelle ou fantme dune image prcdente reste visible sur lcran. Contrairement aux moniteurs tube cathodique, la persistance de le limage des moniteurs LCD nest pas permanente, mais laffichage dimages constantes pendant une longue priode de temps doit tre vite. Pour remdier la persistance de limage, mettez le moniteur hors tension pendant une dure gale celle de laffichage de limage prcdente. Par exemple, si une image est reste affiche sur lcran pendant une heure et quil reste une image rsiduelle, le moniteur doit tre mis hors tension pendant une heure pour effacer limage. NOTA: Comme pour tous les quipements daffichage personnels, NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display recommande lutilisation dun conomiseur dcran mobile des intervalles rguliers, chaque fois que lcran est en veille, ou dteindre le moniteur lorsquil nest pas utilis.

LA MODIFICATION DE LA POSITION ET DU RGLAGE DU MONITEUR PEUT RDUIRE LA FATIGUE DES YEUX, DES PAULES ET DE LA NUQUE. OBSERVER LES DIRECTIVES CI-APRS LORS DU POSITIONNEMENT DU MONITEUR :
Pour une performance optimale, laissez le moniteur se rchauffer pendant 20 minutes. Rgler la hauteur du moniteur de sorte que le dessus de l'cran soit au niveau ou lgrement en-dessous du niveau des yeux. Les yeux doivent regarder lgrement vers le bas lorsque l'on regarde le milieu de l'cran. Positionner le moniteur une distance minimale de 40 cm (16 po) et maximale de 70 cm (28 po) des yeux. La distance optimale est de 50 cm (20 po). Reposer ses yeux rgulirement en regardant vers un objet situ au moins 6 m (20 pieds). Cligner rgulirement. Positionner le moniteur un angle de 90 par rapport aux fentres et autres sources de lumire, afin de rduire au maximum les reflets et l'blouissement. Rgler l'inclinaison du moniteur de sorte que l'clairage du plafond ne soit pas reflt sur l'cran. Si une lumire rflchie rend la vision de l'cran difficile, utiliser un filtre anti-reflet. Nettoyer rgulirement le moniteur. Utiliser un chiffon sans peluches et non abrasif et une solution de nettoyage sans alcool, neutre, non abrasive ou un produit nettoyant pour vitres pour liminer au maximum la poussire. Rgler les commandes de luminosit et de contraste du moniteur pour amliorer la lisibilit. Utiliser un support de document plac prs de l'cran. Positionner ce que l'on regarde le plus souvent (l'cran ou les documents de rfrence) directement devant soi pour rduire au maximum les mouvements de la tte lorsque l'on dactylographie. Pour viter la persistance dimages (images rmanentes), naffichez pas des motifs fixes sur le moniteur pendant de longues priodes. Consulter rgulirement un ophtalmologiste.
Ergonomie
Pour optimiser les avantages ergonomiques, observez les directives suivantes : Utiliser les commandes de format et position prprogrammes avec signaux standard . Utiliser le rglage couleur et les commandes gauche/droite prprogramms. Utiliser des signaux non entrelacs avec frquence de rafrachissement vertical de 60 75 Hz. Ne pas utiliser la couleur bleu primaire sur fond fonc car cela rend la lecture difficile et peut occasionner de la fatigue oculaire en raison de contraste insuffisant.

Lencombrement rduit et le faible poids du moniteur permettent de le dplacer ou de le transporter rapidement dun point un autre. Pas d'image Le cble vido doit tre bien connect la carte d'affichage et lordinateur. La carte d'affichage doit tre insre fond dans son logement. Vrifiez que linterrupteur de vacances soit sur la position MARCHE. Les interrupteurs dalimentation du moniteur lavantet de lordinateur doivent tre sur la position MARCHE. Vrifiez quun mode daffichage autoris a t slectionn pour la carte daffichage ou le systme utilis (veuillez consulter le manuel de votre carte d'affichage ou de votre systme pour modifier le mode graphique). Vrifier la compatibilit et les paramtres recommands de votre moniteur et de votre carte d'affichage. Vrifiez que le connecteur du cble vido ne comporte aucune broche tordue ou rentre. Linterrupteur dalimentation ne fonctionne pas Dconnectez le cordon dalimentation de la prise secteur pour mettre le moniteur sous puis hors tension. Le pouvoir de chque boutonne sur le ct droit de lcran. Persistance de limage la persistance de limage se prsente lorsquune image rsiduelle ou fantme dune image prcdente reste visible sur lcran. Contrairement aux moniteurs tube cathodique, la persistance de le limage des moniteurs LCD nest pas permanente, mais laffichage dimages constantes pendant une longue priode de temps doit tre vite. L'image dfile ou est instable Le cble vido doit tre bien connect la carte d'affichage et lordinateur. Utilisez les boutons de Rglage image OSD pour mettre au point et rgler laffichage en augmentant ou en diminuant la valeur FINE. Lorsque laffichage est rgl, le Rglage image OSD peut ncessiter un rajustement. Vrifier la compatibilit et les rglages recommands de votre moniteur et de votre carte d'affichage. Si votre texte nest pas net, con Figurez le mode vido en non entrelac 60Hz. La LED sur le moniteur n'est pas allume (Couleur non verte ou ambre peut tre vue) Linterrupteur d'alimentation doit tre en position MARCHE et le cordon d'alimentation doit tre connect. L'image na pas la bonne taille Utilisez les boutons de Rglage image OSD pour augmenter ou diminuer le SIMPLE. Vrifiez quun mode daffichage support a t slectionn pour la carte daffichage ou le systme utilis (veuillez consulter le manuel de votre carte d'affichage ou de votre systme pour modifier le mode graphique).

Pas de vido Si aucune vido n apparat l cran,teignez et rallumez l cran. Assurez-vous que l ordinateur n est pas en mode d conomie d nergie (touchez le clavier ou la souris). Pas de son Vrifiez si le cble des haut-parleurs est bien branch. Vrifiez si sourdine est activ. Vrifiez si le volume dans OSD est rgl au minimum.
