Task 1 Water has always been the most needed resource.

This basic element is the principal need of all living things on earth and covers the 71% of the planets surface. The use of water on the planet has been classified on 3 different areas of interest: The agriculture, the industrial and the domestic use. Since 1900 until 1950 the use of water has been concentrate principally on the agriculture, during this period has been an increase of the use from 500 km3 to almost 1000 km3 which is 100%. On the other hand the use of water by industry is greater than the domestic but it doesnt compare to the agricultural. From 1950 the development of technologies need more resources and associate with this is the use of water. The graph shown a rise to 1000km3 from almost 100km3 in the industrial area and a rise to 500km3 in the domestic area. This rise isnt isolated by area because this 2 depends on agriculture and therefore the agricultural shown a rise too to nearly 3000km3. The countries have records of the use of resources like water and a way to present this is by an index of consumption of water by person. In countries like Brazil with a large population and lands with agricultural potential the need of water is greater than a country like the Democratic Republic of Congo which doesnt have an easy access to water. The consumption on Brazil is in the order of 359m3 and in the Congo is almost 8m3 Task 2 Commonly the need is the impulse wanted by the people to buy a good but in during the last years there has been a different reason which impulse the commercialization of many of the products. The reason that makes the people to buy a good is the supposed need acquired by the publicity behind them. The good advertising of a product gives a positive perspective to the public and this good publicity may come in many ways like tv, radio or internet commercials or just simply from the good experiences of the people that use them. A product doesnt need to be required in order to be bought, it just the need of satisfaction that gives the image of the product. If you think carefully theres a few items that will be a basic need for the people, the rest have become a need because their publicity make them in that way. During this process and thorough the time this products has become a basic need which is part of a status and part of the actual life. An example of this is the computer, a computer its not a basic need like food or water but we need them for work and heres where the publicity creates the image of real need. Maybe we only need a basic model to type some text but a

different model which is faster, lighter or just with different color will satisfy us but this will not satisfy a different segment of population.
