v 2) 2.2) SEXUE INSTRUCTIONS FoR FRos2 ~ SQUARE=NOSE ENDMTLLS GENERAL: The progran PROG} permits the complete machining of r.h. spiral and r.h. cutting square end mills. The program is divided into 6 operations. The operations can be chosen in any Sequence you want, except the 1st operation, i.e. "gluting". The following operations are available: Operation #1: Fluting Ope: Operation #4 don #2: ist & 2nd clearance 0.D. #3: Ast & 2nd clearance endteeth Corner chanfer Operation #5: Gashing Operation #6: Notching of short teeth TQ SETUP THE MACHINE: OPERATION £2 - FLUTING: Reference X, ¥, Z-axis. Set absolute zero. Mount cutter, set any tooth to center height on the operator's sid Measure diameter of 12V9 wheel to be used for fluting and record. Mount 12V9 wheel on arbor. Determine spiral angle. Diameter of Cutter x pi = Inverse Tangent Spiral Lead nce of in won Set B-axis according to spiral angle plus cl wheel angle Clearance of wheel angle betw degrees and "1" degre Example: Spiral angle 26.75 degrees Swing B-axis to 27.0 degre to scale. according 27.0 - 26.75 = .25 degrees clearance Of wheel angle Page Sat center of wheel according to center height Set absolute position for Y-axis. Move X & Z-axis to touch the end of the tool to the edge of the 12V9 wheel. Contact takes place as close as possible to the periphery of the tool because the dish angle of the endteeth results in an additional "x" component. ‘on the position screen zeropoint to setup point Enter the "X" value displaye into the menu page 03 unde: xm, s so that the grinding vheel can Back up the x-axi x in “z" direction. easily pass the cutt Move X & Z-axis until left-hand edge of the wheel touches the front periphery of the tooth set according to center height. Enter the "Z* value displayed on the position screen inte the menu page 03 under "zeropoint to setup point vat. Return X £ Z-axis to absolute zero. Complete menu pages. SETTING UP FOR OPERATIONS 2 2.3.4.5 & S! Set absolute zero. Reference X, ¥, & Z-axii Mount the cutter, set the long tooth to center height opposite of the operator's side. Measure diameters of wheels to be used and record these values. (11V9 & 12V9 recommended) Mount wheels on an arbor (see detail) sure distance between faces of wheels and record this value. Page Set B-axis to .25 degrees according to scale Set center of wheel according to center height. Set absolute position for Y-axis. Move X & Z-axis to touch the end of the tool to the edge of the 11¥9 wheel. Contact takes place as close possible to the periphery of the tool because the @ish angle of the endteeth results in an additional "x" component. Enter the "x" value displayed on the position screen into the menu page 05 under "zeropoint to setup point Xe Move X & Z-axis until the wheel touches the front periphery of the tooth set according to center height.
