At the Friends of Israels inception 74 years ago, we reached out to suffering Jewish people fleeing the horrors of the Holocaust. Since then we have witnessed the rebirth of the nation of Israel, the reunification of Jerusalem, and the waves of Jewish immigration into the land from the far reaches of the world. FRIDAY - DAY 4

After a boat ride and devotions on the Sea of Galilee, we will disembark at Kibbutz Nof Ginnosar and see the first-century Jesus Boat on display there. Then on to Capernaum, where we will visit the ancient synagogue, standing precisely BANIAS where the Lord Jesus and His disciples worshiped, taught, and ministered. We will follow our Lords steps along the rim of the Galilee to the Mount of Beatitudes. Then we will ascend the Golan Heights and learn how important the Golan is to Israels survival. Along the way we will enjoy a breathtaking view of majestic Mount Hermon before arriving at Caesarea Philippi, which marks the headwaters of the Jordan River and the place of Peters great confession. Finally, we arrive at Rimonim Galei Kinneret, on the Sea of Galilee, for Shabbat dinner and our home for two nights.

Tour Itinerary
TUESDAY - DAY 1
We assemble at the Newark International Airport in Newark, New Jersey to begin our historic journey Up to Jerusalem 2012 via our flight to Tel Aviv.

WEDNESDAY - DAY 2

Upon arriving in Tel Aviv we will be welcomed by our Israeli tour guide. On the way to our hotel we will view the ancient port of Joppa. Accommodations tonight are at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Tel Aviv, where we will enjoy our first Israeli dinner. At the ancient Roman city of Caesarea Maritime, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, we will stand in the ancient amphitheater and remember men like Cornelius, Peter, Paul, and Pilate. After viewing the famous Roman aqueduct, we will continue north by way of Haifa and Mount Carmel, then on to Safed. Accommodations tonight are at the Rimonim Hotel. This evening we will view the history of the region at the multi-screen Galilee ROMAN AMPHITHEATER AT Experience in Tiberias.
CAESAREA MARITIME

Today we will visit Nazareth and experience the reenactment of a village at the time of Jesus. Then it is on to Mount Carmel where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal. An important stop of the day will be our visit to Tel Megiddo, the site of biblical Armageddon. From its summit, VIEW FROM MOUNT CARMEL we will survey the plain where the armies of the world will assemble for the last great battle of the Tribulation. Then we will travel through the Jezreel Valley to the magnificent ruins at Beth-Shean, the Pompeii of the Middle East, followed by a visit to the Jordan River. This evening we will enjoy dinner at the famous Lido Restaurant on the Sea of Galilee. Today we will move north to the Lebanese border and visit the grottos at Rosh HaNikra on the Mediterranean. Then we will make our way down the coast into the Valley of Elah where Davids five smooth stones slew the mighty giant Goliath. We will then travel Up to Jerusalem, to the Dan Panorama Hotel, our home for the next five nights.

THURSDAY - DAY 3

MONDAY - DAY 7

Following a devotional service on Mount Scopus, we will ascend the Mount of Olives for a stunning view of the Temple Mount where Jesus revealed Himself as the Messiah. The Garden of Gethsemane, the Kidron Valley, and the walled Old City of Jerusalem will all lie before us. Seeing the Western Wall will be an unforgettable experience. After singing in Saint Anns Church near the Pool of Bethesda, we will follow The Way of the Cross

(Via Dolorosa) WESTERN WALL, JERUSALEM through the Old City and visit the Temple Institute where preparations are being made for a new Temple. This evening will include an after-dinner tour of the Western Wall Tunnel, the famous rabbinic tunnel that runs along Herods ancient wall. We will also tour the gates of the Old City and stop at the Haas Promenade for a spectacular view of Jerusalem.

FRIDAY, MARCH 23 - DAY 1


Travel to EILAT Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv for our flight to Eilat, Israel. Visit the underwater observatory in Eilat. Dinner and our next two nights will be at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Eilat.

Today our stops will take us through the New City of Jerusalem. The Israeli Knesset will be in full view as we move to the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are kept. Yad Vashem, a memorial to the victims of the Holocaust, is a must-visit for all Up to Jerusalem tours. Our SHRINE OF THE BOOK afternoon will include planting trees as lasting memorials to loved ones and the Land. We will end the day with a visit to Gordons Calvary and communion at the GardenTomb.

TUESDAY - DAY 8

SATURDAY, MARCH 24 - DAY 2

WEDNESDAY - DAY 9

The wilderness of Judea holds many treasures, such as the Qumran Caves where the Dead MASADA Sea Scrolls were found, and Masada, a monument to Israels continuing struggle for survival. Following lunch, we will enjoy a float in the Dead Sea and view the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve.

THURSDAY - DAY 10

This morning we will tour the biblical City of David and see the recent archaeological discoveries. You will have free time today in Jerusalem. Our tour will conclude with a banquet, where we will be treated to an address by a prominent Israeli official.

Leave Eilat in the morning, cross the Arava border and drive to Petra, through the scenic Jordanian desert, past the Wadi Rum area, where Lawrence of Arabia once lived and fought with the Bedouins. Arrive at Petra, one of the wonders of the world, built by the ancient Nabateans more than 2,200 years ago. Enter the rose-red city of Petra through the Siq, a narrow passage through the mountains which has amazed visitors for centuries, then up to the treasury which suddenly appears at the end of the gorge, leaving people amazed by its size, color, and beauty. Continue into the heart of this ancient city carved out of the mountains, passing hundreds of tombs, monuments and a spectacular amphitheater which once held 3,000 people. After our visit to Petra we will stop for a sit-down lunch, PETRA, JORDAN followed by a visit to Moses Spring before leaving Wadi Moussa (the new town of Petra). We will drive to Aqaba for a short city tour, return to the Arava border, and then back to Eilat for our second night at the Dan Panorama Hotel. Leave Eilat for the return flights to Ben Gurion International Airport, Tel Aviv, connecting through to Newark (New Jersey) International Airport.

What the Price Includes


AIR TRANSPORTATION
Round-trip between Newark, New Jersey, and Tel Aviv, economy class, 6/60 group airfare as currently available. Transatlantic via any ATC or IATA airline. American and Israeli airport departure taxes included. Current security/fuel/tax supplement to the regular air fare and is subject to change.

By modern, comfortable motorcoaches designed for highway travel. All transfers as shown in the itinerary. The bus driver will accompany the tour.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Twin-bedded rooms with private baths in first-class, five-star hotels such as the Dan Panorama Hotel in Tel Aviv, Rimonim Hotel in Safed, Rimonim Galei Kinneret in Tiberias, and the Dan Panorama Hotel in Jerusalem. Single occupancy available at an additional $850.

SIGHTSEEING MEAL PLAN

All entrance fees to places visited. Fantastic Israeli buffet breakfasts in hotels each morning. Lavish dinners at the hotels each evening. Coffee or tea provided at all meals (other beverages must be purchased). Gratuities at hotels and restaurants included.

TOUR ESCORT

An experienced Israeli guide will accompany the group from arrival to departure. In addition, a veteran Friends of Israel staff member will always be present.

BAGGAGE

One check-in piece of luggage, less than 50 pounds each, one carry-on, and one laptop case or purse are carried free of charge from the United States to Israel and return.

(FOI) the tour described in this brochure, which brochure represents the entire agreement between the passenger, his agent Canaan, and FOI.
