Critical computer and telecommunication systems demand the highest level of power protection. You simply cant afford to put them at risk with a UPS system you cant trust in every situation. Power problems such as surges or sags, harmonics, brownouts and blackouts are hard on computers and network components. They cause scrambled and lost data, interrupted communications, system crashes... even equipment damage. It all adds up to lost time and productivity. But the fact is - not all UPS systems are designed to handle all of these problems. This poses a serious problem if you are using your network for critical corporate activities, because buying the right UPS is very important to the long-term health of your organization. It is more important than ever to find a UPS solution that is equipped to handle virtually any power problem. It means finding a system that fits inand communicates withthe equipment it is protecting. And above all, it means selecting a UPS that can handle a wide range of power inputs and still supply clean, precise power for your vital systems.

The Ability To Handle A Wide Range Of Power Input. In order to grow with your network, a UPS must be able to deal with different types of power input, including imperfect power from your electric utility, DC power from batteries, the variable output of most standby generators, and harmonics from inside the building or even from your own network equipment. The on-line UPStation GXT is designed to handle these situations. If a UPS cant provide proper protection under these conditions, then it isnt providing complete protection. Sophisticated Protection in an Easy-To-Use Package. The UPStation GXT is easy to install...easy to set up...and even easier to use. It features simple operation with a single switch for uncomplicated, error-free start up. A front-mounted panel displays system status, load levels, battery time remaining and any alarm conditions. It also shows an indication and diagnosis of UPS fault conditions, as well as building wiring faults. For maximum flexibility, the UPStation GXT can be easily installed as a space-saving, rackmounted unit or as a compact freestanding tower. This versatility allows it to be used to protect networks, servers, telecommunications equipment or industrial process equipment just about anywhere.

Unlike other UPS technologies, the UPStation GXTs on-line design eliminates all these potential power problems: Power spikes and transients. Special surge protection capability exceeds IEEE 587 Category A. EMI/RFI noise reduction. Full-time EMI/RFI filtering improves computer performance and helps eliminate minor data corruption and noise-induced glitches that generate most problems. Additional EMI noise attenuation is provided by the UPStation GXTs combination of a steel cabinet and internal ferrite beads that acts as a double-shield against electromagnetic interference transmitted along power cables and through the cabinet. Voltage sags and brownout conditions. UPStation GXT has one of the widest input voltage ranges available, so minor low voltage conditions are corrected without resorting to battery operation. The input voltage is variable, based upon output load levels. These may drop as much as 50% below normal before transfer to back-up, reducing the number of battery discharges and extending service life. Harmonics. A special category of noise that causes waveform distortion, harmonics can be triggered by problems hundreds of miles away or as near as the next piece of equipment on the network. Because they are difficult to find and correct, harmonics are best reduced at the UPS. Not all UPS systems can do that - the UPStation GXT can. Power factor corrected loads. Computer equipment can cause voltage oscillations and adversely affect devices throughout the network. This includes ferroresonant-type power protection systems which can actually contribute to this problem. The UPStation GXT maintains stable voltage output even with the power-factor corrected loads typical of modern computer equipment. Outages. With the zero transfer time offered by on-line technology, flexible battery configurations and the ability to handle generator-produced power, your network wont even blink during an extended outage.
NETWORK EQUIPMENT

..........
Computer and peripheral manufacturers specify the power tolerance for their equipment...and its in a very tight range. Go outside those limits and they warn that performance will degrade, equipment life could be shortened or damage could occur - perhaps even voiding the warranty. Electric utilities, however, provide a level of power quality that is adequate for household and large industrial use...but not good enough for todays sensitive electronic equipment. The Liebert UPStation GXT is a true on-line power source, so whatever the quality of power coming in - the pure sinewave output meets the exacting standards of your equipment.

Unlike most network UPS systems, Liebert UPStation GXT can handle all the variations in utility power, as well as the significantly varying frequencies associated with generator start-up/warm-up and load changes.

UPStation GXTs standard batteries provide 6-10 minutes of back-up power, allowing your system to ride out 98% of all power outages. Additional battery modules can extend battery back-up to 60 minutes at full load. A years worth of utility power typically includes dozens of sags brownouts, and a handful of spikes, surges and brief outages. None pose a problem for the UPStation GXT. TELECOMMUNICATION Equipment in the network can create harmonics that affect power to other nearby network components...unless theyre plugged into a Liebert UPStation GXT.
