Job Description
JOB TITLE: DEPARTMENT: REPORTS TO: Job Code: Full Time Part Time Supervisory Non-Supervisory Exempt Non-exempt Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator Safety and Environmental Department Safety and Environmental Manager
POSITION SUMMARY The Safety, Health and Environmental Coordinators position will: Implement and administer company-wide (including subsidiary companies) Safety Programs to prevent accidents and Occupational Health Programs to prevent or reduce industrial injuries and illnesses and to assure compliance with applicable OSHA, MSHA, DOT and other federal, state and local laws and regulations. Implement and administer company-wide (including subsidiary companies) Environmental Programs to reduce waste, prevent pollution and to assure compliance with applicable EPA and other federal, state and local laws and regulations. Will assist with implementation of physical security for company facilities, by making recommendation to the site or facility manager. Provides training to company employees in the areas listed above. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Administrative: Studies, helps develop and promulgate procedures and policies. Organizational: Ensures compliance with all local, state and federally legislated safety and environmental laws including OSHA, MSHA, DOT and EPA Represents company at city, county, state and industry meetings, committees and conferences Provides data to customers as a part of bid packages and pre-qualification Becomes directly involved in confidential and sensitive issues Interpersonal: Interprets policies and laws, advises and counsels company management Performs personnel sampling (sound levels, hazardous material exposure, etc.) and implements corrective action as necessary Conducts facility surveys of all facilities and assures implementation of corrective action, as necessary Ensures adequate safety and health, first-aid, and environmental-related training

Technical: Assists in formulating, developing and directing all facets of company accident-prevention program Assists in developing and administering emergency plans Assists in formulating, developing and directing all facets of company-environmental program Conducts or assures facility inspections to help identify safety, health and environmental hazards Monitors changes in governmental regulations and advises management on compliance Performs environmental sampling of waste streams and potentially hazardous material Supervisory: Supervises activities of trainees, maintenance, technicians or contractors, when applicable
Administrative / Clerical Experience Customer Service Experience Sales Experience Supervisory/Mgmt Experience Technical or Mechanical
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations Required: OSHA 10-Hour class General or Construction Industry or MSHA Part 48 Miner Certification Training certificates from National Safety Council or similar certification a plus Required Skills and Competencies Data Entry Telephone Skills Safety Knowledge Reading / Writing Skills Reasoning Other Organizational Skills Communication Skills Math Skills Product Knowledge
Must be have an understanding of employee training, accident-prevention, and policy development Preferred Skills and Competencies
