Learning Outcomes

1. Respond to a variety of listening texts for different purposes and

2. Speak fluently, appropriately and accurately for a variety of

purposes and situations.(2.2, 5.2, 7.4) 3. Synthesise information and respond critically to a range of texts. (5.1, 5.2, 6.3) 4. Demonstrate the ability to employ art, craft, music, dance, drama, creative and critical thinking skills activities in developing language skills.(1.5, 7.4, 8.3)

Synopsis

This course focuses on listening and speaking skills, and language arts. The emphasis will be on learners discourse and speech production as well as listening comprehension. Learners are required to construct questions and provide corrective feedback to sustain communication in the classroom. Learners are also required to demonstrate creativity in language arts through various applications of visual arts, craft, music, dance and drama techniques, and performance making language learning fun.
