Abstract Grievance Handling System

Municipal Corporation (MC) is a progressive local body dedicated to improving the quality of life of the citizens. A number of key software applications like property tax, registration of births and deaths, health, commercial complexes, water and sewerage charges etc. have been developed in addition to internal accounts and payroll systems for MC. Having realized the importance of Information Technology in improving operational efficiency, the department started its computerized efforts early on. The primary purpose of the Software is to maintain information to monitor and enhance the performance of the departments. The primary purpose of ONLINE INFORMATION CENTRE is to develop and maintain a community information network, which provides open and free access to online information for the citizens. The hallmark of this community information network is the ability of the general public to obtain information that may not have been previously, or easily, accessible to them. This pertains to maintenance of details of grievances received, action taken and status of the grievances. Users with access to the Web can enter their grievances and find out the status of its processing. Each grievance will be assigned a unique id for reference.

The primary purpose of GRIEVANCE HANDLING SYSTEM is to develop, maintain a community information network which provides open and free access to online information for the citizens.

Description:

through online. With this system we can send the complaints, get the complaint status from the department etc. This pertains to maintains of details and grievances received action taken and status of the grievances.

Existing system:
Municipal Corporation deals with different day-to-day activities that take place generally in any system. In existing manual system huge expenditure and a lot of time is spent in communicating the information across different branches. So, there is a need for an integrated automated system, which has

some centralized control over the entire process.

Disadvantages:
Conventional System makes use of huge amounts of paper for recording transactions. In tracking and retrieving the data from the abundant papers is quite difficult.

Proposed System:
The goal of the system is to bring down the workload with the increased efficiency and to speed up the activities. Major Activities: Receive various types of grievances from citizens, Facilitate for speedy processing and updating the status of received grievances, Generation reports and informing the citizen about the action taken by the Municipal Corporation.

Modules
In this system we have different modules. 1. Administrator 2. Department 3. User Software Requirements The software requirements for this system are: Front end Technology Backend Operating system Web Server : html, JSP, JavaScript : Java : Oracle 8i/9i : Win2k or Windows XP : Tomcat 5.0 or later versions

Hardware Requirements The following are the minimal hardware requirements to execute this project: Processor RAM Hard Disk : Intel P3 Processor :64MB RAM. : 4.3GB Hard Disc.
