Resolution Details: The Wonderware Logger Service (wwlogsvc.exe) may not start after uninstalling then reinstalling a FactorySuite product. One cause for this behavior is that the Wonderware Logger Service is a FactorySuite Common component. Another possible cause is that the previous installation of a FactorySuite Product was to a different directory. Here is the procedure to reinstall the Wonderware Logger service: 1. Stop the Wonderware Logger service if it is running. To check if the service is running, go to the Task Manager/Processes. - Go to Control Panel / Services. Highlight the Wonderware Logger service, then click STOP. - Or, at the Start/Run or Command prompt type: NET STOP WWLOGSVC 2. Remove the service. - At the Start/Run or Command prompt type: "C:\Program Files\FactorySuite\Common\wwlogsvc.exe" -remove This step stops a running service and removes the service. The path must be specified in quotes. - Or, run Regedit or Regedt32 and delete the Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WWLOGSVC 3. Re-install the current version of the Wonderware Logger service. - At the Start/Run or Command prompt type: "C:\Program Files\FactorySuite\Common\wwlogsvc.exe" -install 4. Start the Wonderware Logger service. - Start the Wonderware Logger service from Control Panel / Services. - Or, at the Start/Run or Command prompt type: NET START WWLOGSVC 5. If the preceding steps fail, remove the WWLOGSVC entry from the Registry, delete the wwlogsvc.exe, and reinstall the Wonderware Logger service. - FS2000 ver 7.0: Reinstall the FactorySuite Product.
