ABOUT SAEINDIA
SAEINDIA is India's leading resource for mobility technology. As an individual member driven society of mobility practitioners the ownership of SAEINDIA wrests with its members who are Individuals from the mobility community, which includes Engineers Executives from Industry, Government Officials, Academics and Students SAEINDIA is an affiliate society of SAE International registered in India as an Indian nonprofit engineering and scientific society dedicated to the advancement of mobility industry in India. The officers in Section Governing Boards, Operating boards and Committees share the onus of its efficient functioning here. All efforts are on now with a single minded purpose to propel the automotive engineering profession by focusing on three trends occurring in the automotive industry today that affect all automotive engineers and engineering societies. The first of these trends is simultaneous engineering the integration of the roles of design engineer, manufacturing engineer, supplier, marketer, and planner. The second trend is the increased reliance of auto manufacturers on suppliers and design houses to support the design and manufacturing functions. A third factor crucial to an internationalized auto industry is standards as communication, as a basis for regulation, and as an aid to interchangeability. Global standards have become a necessity, and the responsibility for developing them falls on internationally recognized standards-writing groups and, ultimately, on the individual engineers who participate in standards work. During its hundred plus years, the automotive industry has achieved remarkable progress in both production output and technological development. However, associated with this progress has been a slight yet noticeable lag in the level of technological development as compared to the increase in production volume. The founding principle of the SAE International is to unite scientific and technical staff to perform free academic discussions, to dedicate themselves to the cause of prospering the science and technology for automotive vehicles and to make contributions to speed up the modernization of automotive industry. A great deal of effort has been expended to make these definitions suit this purpose. It is recognized quite well by both SAEINDIA and SAE International which keeps on raising its bar on standards since like linguistic dictionaries; even our efforts and purpose must be revised periodically to reflect current usage and changing needs.

ABOUT TEAM PRESTOS

Team

PRESTOS is a bunch of mechanical engineers from YMCA University of Science & Technology proficient of achieving high altitude with respect to overcoming new emerging challenges in the design and manufacturing. The team works on developing new technologies in designing and manufacturing to build a high quality FORMULA -1 vehicle. The team has already marked its presence in the scrutiny of SUPRA SAE INDIA where they showed their talent and innovation to clear the first round.

ABOUT SUPRA SAEINDIA

SAEINDIA is pleased to organize, SUPRA SAEINDIA 2012 Event from 6th to 8th July 2012 in Chennai, followed by HR Meet on 9th July 2012, for the students of the Engineering Institutes all over India. This event provides a real world engineering challenge for the SAEINDIA Student members that reflects the steps involved in the entire process from design and engineering to production to marketing and endurance. The SUPRA SAEINDIA 2012 is a forthcoming competition which presents the Under Graduate & Post Graduate Engineering Students the task of designing, modeling and fabricating a formula type racing car. The concept behind SUPRA SAEINDIA 2012 is that a fictional manufacturing company has contacted a design team to develop a small Formula style race car. The prototype is to be evaluated for its potential as a racing car. The target marketing group for the race car is the nonprofessional weekend autocross racer. Each team designs and produces a prototype based on well laid down rules & regulations. The project fuels the exuberance of the youth by providing teams a platform to test their mettle, giving them a pragmatic exposure to real world challenges as faced in the industry. Students realize their talent through such an experience, making them proven candidates for the future as technocrats, entrepreneurs, designers, innovators and leaders. This helps the objective of bringing out student talent to serve the nation for the years to come, in fulfillment of the Automotive Mission Plan (AMP2016) a dream to make India an International Automotive Hub. This SUPRA SAEINDIA 2012 scheduled from 6th July to 8th July 2012 would be a high adrenalin event. We invite you to come and kindle your innovative ideas and creativity to experience engineering at its best.

OUR PERSPECTIVE This is a life time opportunity for our team to become a responsible engineer and explore modern technology of designing and manufacturing using computer simulation and analysis, so as to build an automobile that can be driven in formula-type racing.

ABOUT OUR UNIVERSITY

The YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad, erstwhile, 'YMCA Institute of Engineering, Faridabad' was established in the year 1969, as a joint venture of the National Council Of YMCAs of India, Govt of Haryana and the Central Agencies for Development Aid, Bonn, Germany. It started as an Indo-German project with an aim to impart Technical Education to a developing India on German pattern.

The Institute has been granted University status since 1st Dec., 2009. (Established by Haryana State Legislative Act No. 21 of 2009 & Recognized by UGC Act 1956 u/s 22 to Confer Degrees)

SUSPENSION: Double A- arm with rocker geometry type suspension to be used. TYRES: Tyre notation: 181/70R14 12x 5 tires are to be used.
