dr. Z. randall stroope is one of the most active choral conductors and composers working today, with recent conducting engagements at the American School in Singapore, Canterbury Cathedral (England), Salzburger Dom (Austria), Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, D.C.), Vancouver Symphony (British Columbia), and three performances at the Vatican in the past two years. He also is Artistic Director for summer international choral festivals in Berlin, Germany and Rome, Italy. Stroope has toured 15 countries with ensembles under his direction, as well, including China and South Africa. In the United States, Dr. Stroope has conducted 35 all-state choirs (Kentucky, New Hampshire and Delaware in 2011), and does many clinics a year for professional choirs, universities, and state music organizations across the country. At Oklahoma State University, Dr. Stroope is the Director of Choral and Vocal Studies where he conducts the Concert Chorale and Chamber Choir, oversees recruitment activities, and coordinates the undergraduate and graduate conducting program. He and the other six faculty and staff in the choral/vocal division has seen tremendous growth in the number of music majors and general university involvement in the choral program. Prior to teaching at OSU, Dr. Stroope was the Director of Choral Studies at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. Dr. Stroope has 95 published works with Alliance, Walton, Colla Voce, and MorningStar and Heritage Music Press. His compositions sell over 200,000 copies a year, and are performed regularly by esteemed ensembles throughout the world, including professional ensembles in the United States, France, Holland, Hong Kong, Spain, Japan, Australia, the Czech Republic, and Canada. Dr. Stroope has personally conducted/recorded 13 professional compact discs, and recordings of his music are heard frequently on radio and television broadcasts, including National Public Radio. doug elmore, Orchestra Director, brings to the orchestra program over twenty-five years of quality musical experience in the Louisville-Southern Indiana area. He is currently in his twenty-fifth year at Floyd Central HS. In addition to his duties with the FC Orchestras, Mr. Elmore is currently serving his twenty-fifth year as Orchestra Instructor at Highland Hills Middle School (formerly Floyd Central Jr High School). He recently completed a tenure of seventeen years at Galena and Floyds Knobs Elementary Schools . With a an undergraduate degree in Music from DePauw University (1986) and a Masters Degree from the University of Louisville School of Music(2001), Mr. Elmore has led the Floyd Central and HHMS Orchestras to more than seventy Superior (Gold) ratings at ISSMA Music Festivals over the past twenty-two years. In addition, the Floyd Central High School Orchestra has performed at each of the last twenty-one ISSMA State Finals Contests, earning State Champion Honors in 1995 and Runner-up Honors in 1996 and 1998. An active clinician and guest conductor, Mr. Elmore has served on the staff of the Kentuckiana Music Festival from 1989 through 2001, teaching Double Bass and coaching chamber music ensembles. From 1997 through 2003 he taught on the faculty of the Great Lakes Music Camps in Indianapolis and Valparaiso . Since 1996, he has guest conducted at middle school string festivals in Carmel , Indiana ; Louisville , Kentucky ; and South Bend, Indiana . In 2004, he was the Guest Conductor of the Jefferson County (KY) All-County High School Orchestra. He served on the faculty of Bellarmine University as Jazz Bass instructor, and is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Louisville School of Music, where he teaches String Methods. harry d. Blake is current director of bands at Blinn College in Berhham Texas. He is the former director of bands at DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas, North Salem High School in Salem, Oregon and MacArthur High in San Antonio, Texas. The 2005 DeSoto Wind Symphony was a featured band at the Bands of American National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana, the 2007 Southeastern United States Band Clinic in Troy, Alabama, in and the 40th Annual Western Michigan Wind and Percussion Clinic in April of 2008. The MacArthur High School band of San Antonio, which Mr. Blake directed from 1994-1999 was the winner of 26 consecutive UIL sweepstakes awards, placed 5th at the 1998 Bands of America Southwest Regional, was a featured band at the National Concert Band Festival in Indianapolis in 1997, finished 8th in the 5A honor band competition in 1996 and 11th in the 1997 state marching contest. Mr. Blake also conducted the Killeen High School band program from 1990-1994, one of the outstanding 5A bands in Central Texas. Prior to coming to Texas to teach high school, Harry Blake served as Director of bands at Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma; University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV); and Frostburg State College in Frostburg, Maryland. Before entering the collegiate ranks of teaching, Mr. Blake directed the renowned Fort Hunt High School band from Fairfax County, Virginia. The Fort Hunt band toured extensively and performed at the Mid-East Music and the Mid-West Music Conventions. Prior to teaching at Fort Hunt, Mr. Blake was the director of the outstanding Sturgis High School Band in Sturgis, Michigan. Mr. Blake is a past State Chairman of the National Band Association and College Band Directors National Association. He is currently a member of TMEA, TBA, Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Academic Fraternity and Kappa PSI National Band Fraternity.
