The swivel wheels are lockable and have a handy mesh shopping basket. The single position seat does not recline though. Some parents are okay with this because they want the child to be secure. The height of the stroller is also adjustable. Another cheap Maclaren stroller is the 2008 Maclaren Volo Stroller. It can hold children up to 55 lbs. Like the Maclaren Baby Volo, it is also made of aluminum and has a sturdy aeronautical quality frame. The five point safety harness is there to ensure the security of the child. February 4, 2012 at 6:41 am Maclaren strollers recalled? I was shopping around for a lighter stroller and I was told that Maclaren was the best. But when I went to purchase this stroller my sister said that all Maclaren strollers have been recalled. She said that all of the strollers were recalled due to reports of finger amputations. Has any one else hear about this recall and is it true? Reply

Where can I get a cheap Maclaren stroller? I want to get a Maclaren twin double stroller and I am willing to spend over $200 for one but then on ebay the same ones are selling for under $170, where are they getting them so cheap that they can sell them for that little? Anyone know where they get them? Thanks! Reply

March 1, 2012 at 11:00 pm Zeus is right. There are Maclaren distributors that buy in bulk and can sell cheaper on eBay. Theyre operating costs are cheaper than Babies R Us, thats for sure. I bought my Maclaren at Babies R Us and found it $50 cheaper on eBay I was not happy. I would go for the one on eBay, be sure after shipping charges its still a bargain. Have you checked babystyle.com yet? They have free shipping on lots of stuff so Id check with them, too. Good luck, Mama. Take care. Reply

February 6, 2012 at 3:18 am Maclaren/Combi strollers and Britax car seats? I recently moved to New York and I find that EVERYONE has Maclaren strollers, but they are expensive from what Ive seen. I also see Combi a lot, but I have heard they are hard to steer. Which should I go with? I wont be driving much in the city, but will head out to Long Island on trips later this summer. Is it really worth it to get a Britax? My son is 11 months and will be switching out of his carrier VERY soon. We have been using a Baby Trend snap-and-go with his car seat, but its time to think more long term. Please help. Reply

February 10, 2012 at 2:25 am Chicco Liteway? or Maclaren xlr? Strollers? I cant decide. My son is already 1 & were searching for a good light stroller. So far Im stuck on these Chicco Liteway is cheaper $115, maclaren is about $290-360 (*&more expensive.) They both recline (which is something that comes in handy)! & they dont come with cup holders! Which would you go with? Which stroller do you have? Reply

February 24, 2012 at 10:51 pm I have a Graco and I love it. It has many cupholders, shock absorbers, and it fits my two year old great. It folds up pretty small also. I would never spend the money on a Maclaren, it just seems silly to me when I found one so much cheaper that I like so much better. Reply

February 14, 2012 at 5:48 pm If you have owned both a Maclaren stroller and a cheaper stroller, do you think the Maclaren is worth it? Im thinking of getting a lightweight stroller soon and Im torn between getting a cheap one and getting a Maclaren which are supposedly longer lasting and better. I had a look at some today and the Maclaren wheels didnt seem that much better compared to other strollers. So for those of you that have owned a Maclaren and a cheaper stroller, how do you rate Maclarens? Are they worth the extra money? Reply

February 15, 2012 at 11:06 pm ive had a few prams, pushchairs and strollers at this stage and the best one by far is the Maclaren stroller that we have. I wish it was the first one i bought instead of the last. I was simply tired of turning up at mothercare about once a year to purchase a new pushchair when i bought the maclaren. 8 months on and it still looks and feels new despite being used daily for a now 2 year old. The model we have is Maclaren Techno XT. it is suitable from birth as it lies flat and the seat comes straight up (i.e. it doesnt lean back when it is at its upright position like some other models). i would most definitely recommend getting a maclaren. the only backside is that the shopping basket isnt very big but it is sturdy enough to hang shopping bags on the

shopping basket isnt very big but it is sturdy enough to hang shopping bags on the handles without it looking like youre bending the pushchair (unlike the quinny zapp). Reply

February 16, 2012 at 6:20 am I just heard Maclaren Strollers have amputated kids fingers! They are being recalled in USA, why not the UK? Is the Maclaren stroller actually safe to use? Please help, because weve just bought a brand new Maclaren for our Son and now were really worried about using it! Reply

HappyMum:
February 22, 2012 at 1:56 pm Maclaren and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have announced a volutary recall of Maclaren Strollers. The stroller has a hazardous hinge mechanism which has caused fingertip amputation and laceration to children when the buggy is unfolded or opened. The firm has received 15 reports of children placing their finger in the strollers hinge mechanism, resulting in 12 reports of fingertip amputations in the United States. They are not recalling the Maclaren strollers in the UK due to the Trading Standards Institute receivng few complaints. However, if you are a concerned parent and wish to get the safety repair kit being sent out to US parents then go to Mindful Mum where you can download an email template requesting the repair kit in the UK. I heard two different reports of UK incidents where children accidently got their fingers trapped in the hinge. Yes, of course you have to be carefully when assembling any equipment near children, but accidents do happen. Maclaren should just make the safety repair kits available and we will all be happy. MODELS INCLUDE: Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller. Reply

February 18, 2012 at 11:08 am Combi Twin Sport vs Maclaren Twin Triumph Strollers? Im interested in both the Combi Twin Sport and the Maclaren Twin Triumph for my 3 month old twin boys. Anyone have, or tested out either of these strollers? Your thoughts, please! Reply

March 6, 2012 at 9:42 am We originally got the Combi Twin for our baby shower, but I wound up getting to aggrivated with how crappy it was..I always kicked the back wheels when I pushed it, and my husband couldnt even push it while walking directly behind it, he had to walk to the side because the wheels are at a wierd angle. I begged my husband to invest in the Maclaren after only 2 months of using the Combi! We now have the Twin Techno. I love it! Its super durable, and quality made. I am 55, and my husband is 63, and this is the only stroller that we both can push, without being uncomfortable (not kicking the back wheels, and a good handle position). The stroller is made with quality, and it doesnt feel like its going to fall apart.even 2 years later, it looks and pushes like its brand new! The Combi felt like it was going to break after a few months. The Maclaren has a huge under carriage basket that will fit a large diaperbag. Also, this is my favorite part, the stroller seat is completly machine washable.EXPECIALLY with twin 3-year olds. It folds very compactly, and is completly weather proof. The only thing I dont like, is that it didnt come with a cup holder. Reply

February 23, 2012 at 8:08 am Anyone use the Maclaren strollers? My son is 5 months, and we currently use his Graco quatro one that his base seat snaps on to.. however, since hes getting bigger and lifting the car seat with him in it is hard work (lol) I dont want to always be strapped to the quatro stroller and Id like to get a lightweight small stroller since hes getting to the point where he can sit up I thought nows the time to start looking. I really happened to like the maclearan anyone else use the maclaren? How did you like it? Reply

February 28, 2012 at 12:51 am I have the Graco quatro stroller, and bought the Maclaren Quest when my daughter was 6 months old. I love the Questit is so light weight and easy to use. My daughter is very comfortable in it. I use the Maclaren for quick outings, and that is the one I keep in my car always. I use the Graco for longer outings, such as the zoo, because of the big basket, and cups holders, etc. I think you will be happy with the Maclaren Questit also has a really high weight limit, so you can use it for a long time. February 24, 2012 at 6:48 pm Any Maclaren stroller owners have issues with clicking noise with the brakes? I just bought the Maclaren Quest sport stroller but I am about to return it because the brake mechanism seems to click on the spokes making an annoying noise while pushing the stroller. Have you had this problem? For a $200 umbrella stroller it should not have issues. Reply

Michelle:
February 29, 2012 at 4:40 pm Nope I have never had that problem with either of my Maclarens. But you could exchange it at the store or call Maclaren and they will fix it. Reply

March 4, 2012 at 1:00 am are Maclaren strollers good for country roads? and in the heavy snowing places? Reply

Hannah's mommy:
March 5, 2012 at 1:51 am No. I have the Maclaren Quest stroller and it is really only good on smooth to fairly smooth surfaces. If you are going to be walking on country roads and places with snow, invest in a good jogging type stroller. They have larger wheels and some even have shocks. Reply

March 5, 2012 at 3:46 am Which is better Maclaren or Bugaboo strollers and why? One of the women at work is pregnant and we are looking to buy her a nice stroller as a company gift. I have looked at Bugaboo and Maclaren and dont know which one is better which is more durable? Easier to transport? I should also say this woman is a bit of a fashion plate and is concerned about her image, so is one of these considered more stylish than the other? Shes the type that is into designer sunglasses, handbags, etc. Honestly I have no clue but am in charge of picking out the gift this time. Reply

March 5, 2012 at 9:17 pm MacLaren Strollers, Quest v. Triumph v. Techno XT? Looking for a second stroller for NYC mom. Bumbleride Flyer is our main ride. The Triumph looks good because of the shoulder strap. The Quest looks good because its so light. The Techno XT looks good because its got so many bells and whistles. We have a MacLaren frame that goes with the Graco car seat- it was our newborn stroller. Anyone with feelings one way or another, please respond. Also, any recommendations as to where to purchase one (and ony promo codes therein) would be greatly appreciated. Reply

ChibiKris:
March 5, 2012 at 11:28 pm We chose the Triumph over the Quest because the Quest didnt have enough to warrant the jump in price. They both can be used at 6 months and above. The Quests leg extension flap has failed on many of my friends models so it will not stay in the upright position. The Triumphs carry strap is WONDERFUL! I would go with the Triumph again in a heartbeat if I was purchasing another one. I got mine off an eBay seller. Reply
