February 6, 2012 at 11:43 am I know my daughters seat did that in my old car so when we brought our new one we brought a thick mat with the rubber bottom, the kind you buy to decorate your kids floor (only a small one like door mat sized) and placed it on the seat, we have had our new car for nearly a year now and theres no dents Reply

February 15, 2012 at 3:55 am Will Chicco car seat fit on Graco Sweetpeace Newborn Soothing Center swing? Does anyone have a soothing center + Chicco seat who can answer this? I know the swing is designed for Graco seats but has anyone actually tried it with the Chicco car seat? Reply

February 24, 2012 at 1:54 am I have the sweetpeace, but why would you want to put ur chicco in there when you have the swing part? Also does ur child likes the sweetpeace? Mine hated it and I think that it is uncomfortable. It is collecting dust in my living-room, biggest waste of 199 I dont think the chico fits. the bottom for the chico is larger than the graco carrier and it seats a lot higher up is not as wide. February 27, 2012 at 6:43 pm Do you need to install the car base for a Chicco car seat? I purchased a car seat with a base, but it doesnt fit it the center of the back seat of my SUV. Just the sides. Just wondering if it would not be safe if I installed the seat without the base. It does show a picture of how to install it without the base in the directions. Thanks for the fire department and police department advice. I will have to call and see when I can go and do this. I didnt even think of that! Reply

March 18, 2012 at 7:28 pm sometimes if there is a hump in the middle seat, your car seat will not fit there. Check your manual to see if there are instructions for installing the seat without the base. I know that Graco allows you to do this. Also, the seat doesnt have to go in the middle, it is safe on the outside too. Take your seat to a Safekids expert to have them install your seat. You can go to Safekids.org to look up a tech in your area. Not all police/firemen are trained in car seat safety and it can be a liability if they install your seat for you without being trained. I just did some research and couldnt find an answer. That said, more and more studies are showing that keeping your baby in the car seat leads to decreased breathing in infants, so its better to take them out and lay them flat because the angle is bad for them, anyway. Everything I found said it accepts most seats. In that research, I also found that most reviewers didnt like the stroller. They said it was bulky, heavy, and wobbly. Youd be better off either keeping your single stroller and getting a buggy board, or just getting a double stroller. I LOVE my Maclaren strollers. http://www.amazon.com/Maclaren-Triumph-Stroller-CoffeeSilver/dp/B001LF3W1W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1293056646&sr=82-catcorr Reply

March 9, 2012 at 4:23 am Does CHICCO make a convertible car seat? I am researching car seats for my 7 month old son. We currently have a Chicco infant car seat that only goes up to 22 pounds and hes 20 pounds, 1oz now so we need to get a new seat asap. I absolutely LOVE his car seat that we have now. Chicco is wonderful. I have been searching but cannot find if they make a convertible car seat. It was well worth the money and I would gladly pay whatever I needed to for piece of mind and knowing that my son is safe. Reply

March 16, 2012 at 8:13 pm I just did a bit of searching- it seems the Chicco entirely skips the convertible seat- right from rear-facing infant carrier to booster- definitely odd. http://www.gracobaby.com/Catalog/Pages/productlistingPage.aspx? catid=10:41||1+10434:4294958943||1 I personally recommend the Graco My Ride 65. It allows for rear facing to 40 pounds. Once you reach that weight limit, you forward face (5 point harnessed) to 65 pounds. Its extremely comfortable and includes 2 cupholders. The My Ride 65 has never been recalled, and I personally think its very easy to use- installation and changing the strap height. Im not sure if youve done much research on extended rear facing, but please take a look at these links. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2DVfqFhseo http://www.car-safety.org/ If you decide to go with the My Ride 65, once your child reaches the weight limit the only other car seat youd need to buy is a high-back belt positioning booster seat. March 17, 2012 at 4:06 am Niether have great crash safety rating. I went with the Graco Snugride (2007) bcz it had the best safety rating in its category. For the toddler seat I am going with Recaro, they have excellent safety ratings as well as side impact protection. Reply

March 9, 2012 at 8:57 pm My son is about to graduate into a converter car seat from his chicco keyfit but? He is 9 months old and has the one that fits into the stroller. We just found out I am pregnant again. Can I use my sons current chicco car seat for our newborn when we get him a new one? (I am not due until July 1st but thought I would get a jump on planning) Or do we need to replace it? Reply

I was wondering, anyone have the Chicco car seat and using one of the car seat carriers like Kolcraft or Baby Trend? Dont want the Graco one. Thanks. Reply

March 21, 2012 at 12:54 pm No Chicco seats were listed with the compatible seats for the Kolcraft Universal car seat carrier 2, so probably not. You could call to double check. Check out Baby Trends universal carrier and Combis universal carrier. Reply
