July 21, 2011

The level four, section III students of Bachelor of Science in Nursing has the mission to successfully work together as a team and provide an educational seminar dedicated to a life of learning that is inspired by love, compassion and respect and dignity for human life. The class also seeks to provide enough facts and information in relation to the selected theme, to open the awareness of the student nurses and to develop their clinical decision-making when it comes to the bioethical issues and dilemmas within the health care arena. Vision: To be the leading entity and most valued group to provide a seminar known for excellence, flexibility and consistency from start to end. In addition, the class will be the most admired individuals who compassionately studied and applied one anothers thoughts and ideas and carried out their respective tasks and responsibilities successfully to come up with the best theme and the best seminar in the eyes of their clinical instructors and fellow nursing students. Objectives: BSN 4-3 aims: 1. To apply and demonstrate what we have learned on the nursing leadership and management course and practice each students management and leadership skills. 2. To provide an excellent opportunity to discuss the nature of specific medical practices, and to consider how these modify the application of moral principles. 3. To learn and share knowledge on how to deal with issues concerning the right of every patient or client in the clinical setting in connection with the bioethical perspectives. 4. To evaluate the common belief about bioethical issues. 5. To develop moral wisdom and moral virtue within people who are and will be on the healthcare profession.

Philosophy First and foremost, students of BSN 4-3 are guided with the belief that the success and effectiveness of an organization relies with the shared values and common view, clear vision of success, motivation to succeed together, and respect for the various roles designated to succeed. Commitment is also an important factor and the key to developing commitment is involvement. As student nurses, indeed, preserving human life is what we value the most. We strongly believe that life is a very precious gift from God, and thus only Him has the right to take it away from everyone. Each person has his/her own human rights which exist as moral and/or legal rights. When it comes to the bioethical perspective, there are certain procedures that is done and decided for the benefit of the patient under the consent of immediate family members and guided by law - it is rather to continue him/her to live longer or end his life right away through the removal of the life supports.
