The Swedish Trade Council in cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden in Baghdad, invites you to participate in a business delegation to Iraq. The delegation will visit Erbil, capital of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, between 17 18 April, 2012. The delegation will be headed by a high level representative from the Swedish Government together with the Swedish Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Carl Magnus Nesser, and the Vice President of the Swedish Trade Council, Mr. Mats Paulson. The aim of the visit to Iraq is to promote Swedish products and services as well as to act as a door opener for Swedish companies interested in pursuing business opportunities in Iraq. KURDISTANS BOOMING ECONOMY OFFERS BUSINESS OPORTUNITIES FOR SWEDISH SMES The Swedish export to Iraq increased by more than 30% during 2011, compared to the same period 2010. Sweden exported products and services to a total value of more than 1.1 bn SEK. There are many interesting business opportunities different sectors for small and medium sized Swedish companies in the rapid development of Kurdistans infrastructure especially for companies supplying to the construction, energy, agriculture, transportation and infrastructure sectors. PLACING SWEDISH PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ON THE MAP The delegation will meet high-level representatives from the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq and major industry players. The visit aims at giving companies an understanding of business opportunities and to directly meet with key players on the Iraqi Kurdistan market. TENTATIVE PROGRAMME IN BAGHDAD Tuesday, 17 April 2012 Arrival Site visit Internal dinner and introduction of delegation FINANCING/PARTICIPATION FEE The participation fee for the business delegation to Erbil is SEK 24,000 per person. Thanks to government funding, Swedish companies with no more than 50 employees and an annual turnover of no more than EUR 50 million are invited to participate at a reduced rate of SEK 12,000. The Swedish Trade Council in Stockholm will issue the invoices and the participation fee shall be paid in advance. For full terms see the enclosed "General Conditions for Export Activities". Additional services, such as extended visiting programmes, can be offered to interested companies for a supplementary fee. Air travel to and from the region is not included. Swedish nationals will receive an entry visa upon arrival at Erbil International Airport (free of charge). REGISTRATION Please confirm your participation as soon as possible but no later than March 20, 2012, by using the attached registration form.
