1.0 BACKGROUND Agrobank is the result of corporatization of Bank Pertanian Malaysia Berhad (BPM) to a commercial position in the market on 1st April 2008 under the Companies Act 1965. BPM was established on 1st September 1969 under the Malaysian Agricultural Bank Parliamentary Act Bill .9/69 and began operating as a statutory body since 1970. This corporatization had opened the windows of opportunity for the bank to contribute towards the national economic growth by providing wider loans/financing scope to potential customer. The bank provides loans/financing to agriculture and non-agriculture based entrepreneurs. Vision Our vision is to be the Bank that leads the banking field with a focus on the agriculture sector. Mission The Bank shall provide comprehensive financial services in accordance with the needs of the market and its customers through sustainable finance to specific targeted groups, such as: Agricultural entrepreneurs Micro, small and medium entrepreneurs Individual persons Objectives a) To advocate sound agricultural development in Malaysia; b) To coordinate and supervise the granting of credits from public funds for agricultural purposes; c) To provide loan, advances and credit facilities for agricultural development and agricultural based businesses; d) The maintenance of the deposits, predominantly in the agriculture sector and to this end, the acceptance of savings and time deposits; e) To enhance the well-being of the agricultural community; f) In continuance of a modern and progressive banking services to fulfill the financial needs of its customers.

2.0 FUNDINGS Agrobank provides various types of loans/funds to customers through conventional or Islamic financial. The loans/funds that are given out range from RM10,000.00 to RM10 million. To serve each and every segmented client groups best, the Bank introduce the services concept that will match their solution for financial needs. The loan facilities are agrobanking, business banking and personal banking. Under these loan facilities, there are Special Government Fund, Commercial funds, Loan/ Mircro Financing and Credit Guarantee Schemes. The Credit Guarantee Schemes will not be covered in this report as it is not available in 2010. Special Government Funds are funds channeled form the government while Commercial Funds will be using the Bankss dana. The following table shows the types of credit facilities that the bank offers and its categories.
