Hi everyone its Eric Ntege here not with bible mathematics today but more of notes today; Now,

I had a friend of mine recently who came to me with a question from a group of Muslims had posed it one at one of their public debate gathering; well I did feel that it would be nice for me to do a little study on it and put something down for us, I know you badly want to know the question, okay here is the argument: If Jesus had been in Egypt until Herod died then who baptized him because before Herod die, he had had John The Baptist killed; so this would mean that by the time Jesus came from Egypt John The Baptist was already dead, then who baptized him? And so it was that many of the members present were over whelmed with this question that their brains froze and the Muslims somehow had it all in their favor, please read their argument again before you proceed reading this document, now let s put it in a much more workable mode so we can clear out the confusion: 1. 2. 3. 4. Who Baptized Jesus Christ? Who (or which Herod) Killed John the Baptist? Did Jesus Come out of Egypt after John s death? What is the least possible age difference between John the Baptist and Jesus?

I love Muslims because they know the truth but then they just want to check out how much you know so they will always mix up a few things and before you not it they have locked you in; well I going to work with the first three questions but you could try carry on the study with these question here when you get some time: 5. Where was Jesus when John the Baptist died? 6. What is the relationship between John the Baptist and Jesus? 7. Is HEROD a title or a Family name? Question one is definitely obvious to those who are reading their bible but let s get some background information to this argument, I know it will help a lot now let s open the bible; Luke 1:5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

This verse here talks of a time when Herod was the King of Judaea but which Herod? I don t know for now but we will get back to this verse later let s keep it here folks.

Luke 1:13 But the angel said to him, Fear not, Zacharias: for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elisabeth shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. We are able to tell beyond doubt that Zacharias was the Father of John the Baptist and his mother was Elisabeth and it is clear in scripture that this family lived in the country hill of Juda- Luke 1:39-40 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda; 40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. And it is in this place that Elizabeth stayed when she was pregnant for five months as we read in Luke 1:24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying, In the six month of Elizabeth s pregnancy; God through Gabriel speaks to Mary who is a cousin (relative) of Elizabeth- this shows us that the parents of both Mary and Elizabeth are from the same parents, in other words Mary and Elizabeth had the same grandparents and because of this relationship between these two ladies we are able to tell that there is a natural relationship between Jesus Christ and John the Baptist. Please take note of the scripture mentioning six months, friends it is very clear that on this visit Mary stayed with her cousin Elizabeth for about three months Luke 1:56 And Mary stayed with her about three months, and returned to her own house, it could be possible that Mary could have seen Elizabeth s baby or that Elizabeth could have given birth a few weeks after Mary had left, I am not saying this is what happened but we can see that in the six month of Elizabeth s pregnancy Gabriel gives Mary a word and then for about three months Mary stays with Elizabeth and it is a fact that the gestation period of man is nine months.
