Scenario In the first assignment for instructing exercise and fitness you had to complete training programs for 3 different clients as part of your job interview procedure. The manager of Wildern Leisure centre was pleased with your knowledge of the previous areas and wants you to take part in some of the practical class sessions and gym inductions of new clients. For this process you need to lead/deliver 3 different exercise sessions to different clients. - You need to deliver a circuits training session - A cardiovascular training session - A resistance training session Task 1 P3 - describe and instruct a warm up and a cool down P5 - assist in instructing induction, resistance training, cardiovascular training and circuit training sessions for selected clients M2 - Justify each part of the warm up and cool down M4 - demonstrate effective communication with selected clients D3 - demonstrate competence in monitoring and adapting exercises to suit different client ability levels. To complete task 1 you need to set up and assist leading a circuits session and then use your training programs to teach a gym induction showing how to correctly train with both cardiovascular training methods and equipment and resistance training methods and equipment. - You must lead warm ups comprising of each key part (pulse raiser,

stretch and mobilisation). You must also show effective communication throughout each training session you deliver with you clients. - Ensure activities are all completed safely and using correct techniques and adapted where needed. - Demonstrate knowledge of gym facilities including water fountains, emergency exits and buttons and gym etiquette.
