In this newspaper article, the author explains that even though texting is taking over the world, it is creating more conversations and students are writing more than before. Barack, Lauren. In this article, the author believes that twitter and texting should be allowed in a classroom setting. In her newspaper article, Texting creates sub-par grammar, some say, Emily Hoover interviews high school/college students and teachers about what they think about texting and if it affects writing or not. And with these interviews, it seemed that most of the students said that they dont find any grammatical errors in their writing even though they use texting everyday. But their teachers beg to differ as they find errors in everyday writing. The teachers do understand that technology is evolving and they are trying to fix students language use.

In his article, Texting slang invading academic work, Matt Krupnick interviews many college professors from the state of California about their views on texting within academic writing. Ken Goldberg, a professor from the University of California-Berkeley, said that it took him a while to get used to this texting slang in emails from his students. Through Krupnicks investigation, he discovered that even some professors are starting to use the slang in their academic writing as well. LearnBoost. They explain that college students use technology all the time when working on papers for the reason of providing cited sources for their research. There were multiple parts of this article, but I focused on the Effects on Classwork section. The author explains that there are many different views on whether people believe texting affects academic writing or not. They never do get to a final conclusion if its bad or not. Myhra, John. The author explains that students are texting a lot more than they used to, and their new language of communicating has almost been forced on them with limitations to the number of texts they can send. In this article, the author explains that just about all middle and high school students have started to talk using texting lingo everyday, not only in their writing but also talking face to face. This is a short article that is to the point to explain that the texting has most definitely affected students writing skills, but still thinks its a good thing for students to hang out with each other outside of the classroom setting. In this article, the author believes that texting is destroying the way students write, but thinks it's because of the way teachers are applying homework to the students. But they explain that everybody has their own way of writing, and that won't change.
