Important Instructions regarding eligibility and filling online application:(a) Candidates are to choose any one venue out of the options displayed, indicating his/ her first choice. (ii) Asst Commandant GD(Women) : 152 cms. (iii) Asst Commandant (Pilot) (Men/Women): Minimum 162.5 cms and maximum 197 cms, leg length minimum 99 cms and maximum 120.0 cms. (b) Weight Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable. (c) Chest Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms. (d) Eye Sight: (i) Asst Commandant (GD) - 6/6(Good Eye) 6/9 (Bad Eye) without glasses (ii) Asst Commandant GD(P/N) - 6/6 (Both Eyes) without glasses (iii) Asst Commandant Technical - 6/12 (Good Eye) and 6/36 (Bad eye). Note: Candidates with above medical standards only to appear for the selection. No waiver will be given for the above standards. 8. Selection Procedure. (a) Shortlisted candidates through online application will be called for Preliminary Selection at given date and time. Candidates are required to appear at the Venue with the following documents: (i) Two copies of pre-filled 'online' application with passport size photograph affixed on both. (ii) Original certificate of tenth class for date of birth verification. (iii) Original mark sheet and certificates of 10+2 examination. (iv) Original certificate and marks sheets (all semesters and years) of BE/ B Tech / Graduation as the case may be. (v) Proof of identity such as passport, driving license, voter I card, college ID card or any other photo identity proof. (vi) Caste Certificate (if applicable) in original as per Govt of India format and the format given below as applicable. (vii) Character certificate (from School/ College/ Employee). (b) Preliminary Selection Board (PSB): - Eligible candidates will appear in Preliminary Selection on the given date and time which will consist of Mental Ability testS. All candidates clearing MAT will undergo PP&DT(Picture Perception and Discussion Test). (c) Final Selection Board (FSB): - The candidates qualifying MAT and PP&DT above will be called for Final Selection. The date and venue for Final Selection Board will be uploaded on Indian Coast Guard website www.indiancoastguard.nic.in. The Final Selection will consist of Psychologist test, Group Testing and Interview (Personality test) (d) Medical: - All selected candidates will undergo Medical examination at nearest Military Hospital. Candidates for GD(P/N) will undergo medical at AFCME, Delhi/Bengaluru. (e) PABT:- GD(Pilot) candidates on qualifying FSB will be required to appear for PABT at Dehradun/Mysore AFSSBs. Those already qualified PABT are to provide details of batch, Chest number and place while filling Persnoal Information Questionnaire (PIQ). (f) Validity of Selection: The candidate's selection pertaining to a particular batch is valid for that batch only. Qualified candidates whose names do not appear in the final select list cannot claim admission for the next batch. These candidates will have to undergo the selection procedure afresh provided that they meet the eligibility criteria for the fresh batch. 9. Reasons for rejection: The Candidature of a candidate can be rejected at any time during the process of selection if:- (a) Having detected not meeting any of the above laid down criteria / conditions of education qualification, age, submission of wrong information or certificates etc. (b) Activities of indiscipline including copying etc. during the testing procedures. 10. Merit List. Qualifying at the FSB does not confirm final selection. A merit list is prepared for the medically fit candidates on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates at FSB. Those who have scored high in the merit list and who are within the stipulated vacancies and are medically fit will be issued with appointment letter and joining instructions for training. The number of vacancies vary from branch to branch and will be decided at a later date depending on the no. of training vacancies available at the training academy. 11. Travel Allowance. Second class train fare for SC/ST candidates who are not employed in the central/state Govt. and if the home station is beyond 30 kms from the place of selection centre will be reimbursed. 12. General Guidelines. (a) Candidates should be prepared to stay for 02/03 days for the Preliminary Selection for which they have to make their own arrangements. No TA/DA will be admissible. (b) Candidates are to regularly visit the CG Website www.indiancoastguard.nic.in for latest updates. (c) No intimation will be given to the candidate in writing or verbal to submit fresh application / certificate/ or any other required documents. 13. INDIAN COAST GUARD OFFERS YOU: (a) Pay. Assistant Commandant - Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade Pay Rs. 5400/- Total emoluments on joining Rs. 45,000/- (approx) per month. (b) In addition to the pay, there will be Dearness allowance, Kit Maintenance allowance and Transport allowance. The candidate will click on the I Agree button, and then, immediately the Online Application form will be displayed. The candidate should select the required branch as indicated in para 2 above and fill all the particulars. (ii) After submitting the form an acknowledgement with a Registration number will be provided to the candidate along with date, time and venue of the examination. The filled Application Form, with the number generated will be available to the candidate to save and take a print. For candidates NOT meeting the eligibility criteria, a Rejection Slip, giving the cause of rejection with the Application Number will be displayed. The dates of applying online is from 27 Feb 15 Mar 12. (iii) After submitting online application, candidates are required to print two copies of the application with number generated by the system. Both copies of the print out of application duly signed with photograph affixed is to be carried by the applicant to the testing centre. Out of the two copies one copy shall be enclosed with class 10th certificate/mark sheet showing date of birth, 12th class certificate along with mark sheet showing subjects, Degree certificate/ mark sheets duly attested by the Gazetted Officer shall also be carried by the candidate for submission at the time of Preliminary Selection. Any candidate who does not carry all these documents at the time of PSB shall not be permitted to appear in the exam. (iv) Candidates must submit only one online application. OR ii) A degree (Graduation level) from a recognised university. Note: Candidates who have not passed 12th standard Examination but have passed Diploma course after 10th standard are eligible for the captioned recruitment provided: (a) Diploma course passed after 10th standard must be a full time course (Diploma course through correspondence are not eligible) with a minimum of two years duration. (b) The Diploma course passed after 10th standard should be recognized / approved by the State Board of Technical Education of concerned State. (c) The percentage of marks in 12th/ Diploma Course shall be arrived at by dividing the marks obtained by the candidate in all subjects by aggregate maximum marks of all subjects irrespective of optional/additional optional subjects studied. Grace marks, if any, awarded by the Board/University will be excluded for the purpose of calculation of percentage. The date of passing the eligibility examination will be the date appearing on the marksheet/provisional certificate or the date on which the result was posted on the website of the university / institution. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply: i) The candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe at his/her own cost. ii) The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the minimum stipulated eligibility criteria for the candidate. (11th Standard or below). iii) The scribe can be from any academic discipline. iv) Both the candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking in the prescribed format with passport size photograph of scribe, and confirm that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe as mentioned above. Further, in case it later transpires that he/she did not fulfill any of the laiddown criteria or suppressed material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written test. v) Such candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination. 8. Probation period: The newly appointed assistants/stenographers will be on probation for a Minimum period of 6 months. Before the probation period comes to an end, the performance of the newly recruited employees will be evaluated and the probation period of those employees whose performance fails to meet Banks expectation, may be extended. 9. Application Fees and / or Intimation Charges (Non-refundable)

Candidates applying only for Stenographer post will also have to pay fee as detailed above. Additional fee to be paid by candidates who have already applied for clerical post now applying additionally for Stenographer post.

Fee once deposited will neither be refunded nor be adjusted against any future recruitment projects. The fee sent through Indian Postal Order, Bank Drafts, Cheques, Currency Notes etc. will not be accepted. Such applications will be treated as without fee and will be summarily rejected. Candidates also have an option to make online fee payment as detailed under item 15. 10.Selection Procedure: All eligible candidates should apply on-line before the last date for registration of application. a. Final selection will be made on the basis of performance in the written test and interview taken together. Merely satisfying the eligibility norms does not entitle a candidate to be called for written test or interview. b. The written test will be of Objective type consisting of (i) General Awareness (ii) General English (iii) Quantitative Aptitude (iv) Reasoning Ability (v) Marketing Aptitude / Computer Knowledge. The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be printed bilingual i.e., English & Hindi. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests. The passing marks in each of the tests will be decided by the Bank on the basis of the performance of all the competing candidates taken together in each test to a minimum required level. Candidates are also required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/ OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon). for being considered for interview. Minimum percentage marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank. c. Candidates qualified in the written test for recruitment in clerical cadre in the bank and opted for appointment as stenographer will be called for skill test in stenography. The candidate will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer in 40 minutes in case of English Stenography and in 55 minutes in case of Hindi Stenography. Visually impaired candidates will be required to transcribe the matter in 70 minutes for English Shorthand Test and in 95 minutes for Hindi Shorthand Test. Candidate should score minimum 50% marks to be qualified. Candidates will be required to appear for the skill test at the venue identified by the Bank. The venue for skill test will be advised to the candidates in due course. NOTE: i) Other detailed information regarding the written examination will be given in the Acquaint Yourself booklet, which will be made available to the eligible candidates along with the call letter for the test. ii) Interviews: Depending upon the number of vacancies only certain number of candidates from amongst those who qualify by ranking high enough in the merit will be called for interview in the ratio of maximum 3 candidates for each vacancy. The papers can be answered either in Hindi or in English. The duration of the written test will be 01 hour. iv) It is intimated that the OMR answer sheet of written test will be processed/ scanned in electronic machine. Any wrong entry of roll number, name, question booklet, number of question paper series will render the OMR sheet invalid and the same will not be evaluated. be checked at the time of Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Original documents will be returned on the spot after verification and attested photocopies of certificates will be retained with the application. Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred) Size of file should be between 20kb50 kb Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50KB. If the size of the file is more than 50 KB, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI resolution, no. of colours etc., during the process of scanning. (ii) SIGNATURE IMAGE: The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen. The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person. The signature will be used to put on the Attendance Sheet. If the Applicants signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination, does not match the signature on the Attendance Sheet/Hall Ticket, the applicant will be disqualified. Dimensions 140 x 60 pixels (preferred) Size of file should be between 10kb 20kb Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20KB. SCANNING THE PHOTOGRAPH & SIGNATURE: Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch) Set Color to True Color File Size as specified above Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use the upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above). The image file should be JPG or JPEG format. An example file name is : image01.jpg or image01.jpeg Image dimensions can be checked by listing the folder files or moving the mouse over the file image icon. Candidates using MS Windows/MSOffice can easily obtain photo and signature in jpeg format not exceeding 50KB & 20KB respectively by using MS Paint or MSOffice Picture Manager. Scanned photograph and signature in any format can be saved in .jpg format by using Save As option in the File menu and size can be reduced below 50KB(photograph) & 20KB(signature) by using crop and then resize option (Please see point (i) & (ii) above for the pixel size) in the Image menu. Similar options are available in other photo editor also. If the file size and format are not as prescribed, an error message will be displayed. While filling in the Online Application Form the candidate will be provided with a link to upload his photograph and signature. Dependents of Ex-Servicemen killed in action (DXS): Servicemen killed in the following operations would be deemed to have been killed in action attributable to military service (a) war , (b) war like operations or Border Skirmishes either with Pakistan on cease fire line or any other country, (c) fighting against armed hostilities in a counter insurgency environment, viz.Nagaland, Mizoram, etc. (d) serving with peace keeping mission abroad, (e) laying or clearance of mines including enemy mines as also mine sweeping operation between one month before and three months after conclusion of an operation, (f) frost bite during actual operations or during the period specified by the Government, (g) dealing with agitating para military forces personnel, (h) IPKF Personnel killed during the operations in Sri Lanka. Note: (1) Candidates still serving in Defence Services and desirous of applying under Ex-Servicemen category should submit a certificate from the competent authority that they would be released/retired on or before 31.03.2012. (2) An Ex-serviceman who has once joined a Government job on civil side after availing of the benefits given to him as an Ex-Serviceman for his reemployment. including a job in the Public Sector Undertaking ceases to enjoy ex-serviceman status for further employment. Definition: Physically Challenged Persons (PC) Definition of Categories of Disabilities: (a) An Orthopedically Challenged (OC) person is one suffering from Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy. Persons who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant disability (as certified by a Medical Board appointed by the Central/State Govt.) would be eligible for reservation in services/ posts. Locomotor Disability means disability of the bones, joints or muscles leading to substantial restriction of the movement of the limbs or any form of cerebral palsy. Cerebral Palsy means a group of non progressive conditions of a person characterized by abnormal motor control posture resulting from brain insult or injuries occurring in the pre-natal, peri-natal, or infant period of development. (b) Deaf & Hearing Impaired (HI): The deaf are those persons in whom the sense of hearing is non-functional for ordinary purposes of life i.e. total loss of hearing in both ears. They do not hear, understand sounds at all even with amplified speech. Hearing impairment means loss of sixty decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. (c) Visually Impaired: (VI) The visually impaired persons are those suffering from blindness or low vision. Blindness- refers to a condition where a person suffers from any of the following conditions: (i) total absence of sight (ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Smeller) in the better eye with correcting lenses, (iii) Limitation of the field or vision subtending an angle of 20 degrees or worse. Person with low vision- means a person with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment or standard refractive correction, but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning or execution of a task with appropriate assistive device. Use of Scribe : Visually impaired candidates and candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use their own scribe at their cost during the written examination. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply :- i) The candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe at his /her own cost ii) The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the stipulated eligibility criteria. iii) The scribe can be from any academic discipline. However, the Scribe of average academic performance will be appreciated. iv) Both the candidates as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking, confirming that the scribe fulfills all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe as mentioned above. METHOD OF SELECTION - STAGE I {PET/PST} a) PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (PET) / RACE: At the beginning of the recruitment process, candidates will be subjected to 1 mile race to be completed within 10 minutes (For female 12 minutes). This test will be only qualifying in nature. Candidates who do not qualify the race would be eliminated from the recruitment process by giving rejection slip intimating reasons thereof by Presiding Officer. The questions will be set both in Hindi and English. The question papers will be bilingual and can be answered either in Hindi or in English. The standard of the questions should commensurate with the knowledge expected from a Class 10 pass candidates. vi) In order to assess the knowledge of respective trade, both objective/descriptive type questions consisting of 50 marks will be set. Question paper of part-II (Trade) will be separate for each trade and a candidate having applied for a particular trade will be given question paper (Part-II) pertaining to that trade. vii) The duration of the Written Test will be 2 hours. STAGE III - TRADE TEST: The candidates who qualify in written test will be put through trade test. The Trade test will be of qualifying nature. candidate declared unfit for appointment in CRPF in detailed Medical Examination, the grounds for rejection will be communicated to him by the Medical Officer duly countersigned by the Officer detailed by the Sector IG.
