Dear Student,
The following points are to be observed before submission of assignments:
1. Each assignment carries 10 marks.
2. Assignments are to be submitted on or before March 31, 2012 to the study centre
opted by the student.
3. If assignments are submitted to the Head Quarters they will not be evaluated.
4. Student from outside the state of Karnataka should submit his/her assignments to
the respective Chairman of departments of KSOU.
5. Student shall submit his/her assignments in the year of admission only. If he/she
fails to submit assignments in the year of admission he/she will be loosing internal
assessment marks once and for all. It means that the student has to pass the
examination with theory marks only. No correspondence will be entertained in
this regard.

Is logical
Is written in simple and correct English
Is written neatly and clearly, in ones own handwriting.
Also, student should keep a photo copy of the assignments submitted to the study
centre / Head quarters, and do take acknowledgement from them.

1. X purchased a machinery on instalment system for Rs. 27,300 to be paid as follows:
On delivery Rs.8, 000, at the end of first year Rs.7, 600, at the end of second year Rs.6, 000, at

BCO-38 COURSE-VIII: INCOME TAX LAW AND PRACTICE
1. Dr. Prakash owns the following four houses and which he claims to be self occupied. You are
required to compute his income from house property for the year ending 31-3-2011.
The first house whose Municipal value is Rs. 1,25,000 and in which he resides with his family.
Second house, the Municipal value is Rs. 2,80,000 is in the occupations of his three sons studying
in University.
Third house whose Municipal value is Rs.1,50,000 is occupied by his Uncle, dependent on him.
