There are simple Dos and Donts for making a Canteen Kitchen Safe :Do's
It should have good natural ventilation and should be well lit Ideally, Kitchen door should have 2 clearance from floor Cylinder should always be stored in an upright position Cylinder and rubber tube should be fully visible Stove should be placed above the cylinder level The cooking platform should be of non-inflammable material like stone, brick etc.

Dont keep cylinder in a closed cupboard, if it is a must, then the cabinet door and floor should have minimum 2 clearance between them Dont use any cover on the rubber tube Dont keep refrigerator in your kitchen Stove/Hotplate burners should not be in line with the air draft from windows / doors. Exhaust fan should not be fitted above the burner. It lifts the flame. Storage Cabinets should not be fitted above the Hotplate. Pooja Ghar should not be in the Kitchen. Never place your Stove on ground for cooking convenience. Kitchen / Pantry should not be below ground level i.e. basements etc.
Following simple tips can be followed for conserving LPG :Soak pulses in water before cooking. Soak hard pulses like Bengal gram etc. overnight. Use Pressure cooker. Use lid over the cooking vessel while cooking. Use right size vessel as per the quantity of food to be cooked. Choose right size of the burner. Use small burner for smaller vessels. Use flat bottom vessels. Do not use excess water. Once the liquid starts boiling, put the burner flame on `sim position. Prepare for everything before you start actual cooking. Take out frozen foods; bring it to room temperature before reheating / cooking.
