SAMATOL FOUNDATION
(Reg No. 2528/2006, Public act 31902 Mumbai) SAMATOL FOUNDATION, a social organization registered in 2006, is working for children in difficult situations found on railway platforms, runaway from their homes and addicted to drugs. These are social problem which create an imbalance in the society. SAMATOL is registered under Society Registration Act, 1860 and Trust under the Mumbai Public Trust Act, 1950. Samatol means balance. And Samatol foundation is trying to bring back the balance by helping such children. For the past five years, it has been conducting rehabilitation and Home Orientation programmes for such children. It is helping these children to get back their respect and the rights that they deserve. Samatol focuss on Railway junctions, as railway is the most convenient mode for any run away child to reach to the city of dreams, which they admire. It has been observed that majority of children take the most crucial decision of their life during their early teen age; to select a different way of life which may be far away from the comfort zone of family and friends. A child feels that his dreams and aspiration can't be achieved in the atmosphere where he is at present; hence they choose to run away from home and attempt to create their own path to live their dreams. Introduction of the founder Vijay Jadhaw, the founder of Samatol foundation was 1st working in an NGO which inspired him to establish Samatol. He himself first invested and then the fund, donation gave a helping hand. No individual or institute is bound to fund the foundation for throughout. Hence the founder himself has to keep a continuous networking with these institutions. Samatol accepts funds only from society and not government as the cause it to serve the society. Programmes Children survey Counselling centre Rehabilation and relocation workshop Networking with various NGOs & GOs Social, Educational & Health related programmes. Awareness about childs Rights & Child-friendly society

Field Work at Railway Station : Children, who are found loitering on railway junctions and stations, are closely observed by our volunteers and the network of all the stake owners at the Platform. As per our study we have categorized the children depending on their timeframe that they have spent on the platform, also the Activity in which they are indulged. This categorization helps us to provide a systematic and effective solution to rehabilitate and shape up the life of a child. Home Placement This is a unique activity, where in we send the Child Back to their Families, who had runaway from the home due to some or the other reason. The Home Placement process Involves counseling of the Child once identified, Locating the Family and getting the background, counseling the parent before handing over the child, and follow up with the family at a regular interval. Wherever we find the family condition to be improper for the child development due to financial crunch, with the help of local Voluntary organization, we set up a linkage for further support of the family. Home Placements are done for Children from Three sources Home Placement for New Child Whenever our team identifies a new child at the Platform, we get the legal formalities done and counsel the child to know his family details. Our team then locates the family and counsels them before handing over the child to them, so that the family should accept the child in a proper manner to ensure his bright future. Comments/suggestions:

Samatol foundation maintains an income and expenditure a/c. thus being a nonprofit organization it does not gain profit or incur loss. The donations are fully used to serve the cause of children. Due to no publicity strategy there is no awareness among the people about the npo and its cause. Thus even if the people are in any way ready to help such organizations they do not have any information related to it.
