Unlisted specifications may not be supported by publisher. ________________________________________________________________________ 2) INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS _______________________ During the L.A. Noire activation process you will be prompted to register with R ockstar Games Social Club. Please note that Social Club registration is not mandatory to play the game, but to experience the maximum functionality of L.A. Noire PC, including Social Club Awards, stat tracking and the Ask The Community feature we highly recommend that you sign up to a Social Club Account. Steps: 1. (Disc version only) Insert the 'L.A.Noire' (Disc 1) into your DVD-ROM drive. If the installer does not start, open your DVD-ROM drive folder and doub le click on the 'Setup' icon. 2. You will first need to install the Rockstar Games Social Club applica tion. Please follow the on-screen directions. The installation of the Rockstar Games Social Club application is requir ed to install and play L.A.Noire, but you are not required to create an online Social Club account to play the game. 3. Other components such as DirectX and Microsoft .NET and Visual C++ so ftware will then be installed if required. Please follow the on-screen directio ns. 4. Next, you will begin installation of L.A. Noire. Please follow the on-screen directions. until the the installation process is complete.

5. (Retail version only) In order to play L.A. Noire you do not need the DVD in your drive. 6. Click on the 'L.A. Noire' icon to start the game launcher. You can use the game launcher to set the in-game graphic options using t he 'Settings' button. You can also change these options in the game instead if you wish. The launcher also allows you to change the game language and keyboard la yout. 7. Click the 'Launch Game' button to play the game. 8. Once the game has loaded You will be prompted to enter your product k ey to perform a one-time product activation via the internet. You can find the product k ey on the back of your manual. Please note that the game includes a release date check, and will not ac tivate until the release date has passed. If you fail to connect, or the process fails, please visit www.rockstarg ames.com/support for details. 9. After activation L.A. Noire will download and install a mandatory pat ch which will require the game to restart. Please follow the on-screen directions. 10. Once the game is patched you will be asked to create a Social Club a ccount. Rockstar Games Social Club is a members-only destination for leaderboard s, stats, tournaments, ongoing special competitions, virtual events, MP3s a nd more goodies associated with Rockstar titles. You may create an offline profile instead if you wish but this will not give you access to Social Club features. Note: Once the game is activated, and a Social Club profile created you do not need an internet connection to play the game. However without an internet connection certain Social Club features will not be available, and the game will not be able to automatically download and install patc hes. ________________________________________________________________________ 3) PATCHING _______________________ L.A. Noire includes an automatic patching system. When you run the game it will check for new patches, and can automatically download and install them if they are availab le.

A mandatory patch is required on first launch to activate the game. KEYBOARD / MOUSE BINDING: Most mouse buttons and keys can be bound to any function. The main exception is the mousewheel which is used throughout the game for features like zooming in/out, scrolling do

cuments, etc. ________________________________________________________________________ 8) SUPPORTED GAME CONTROLLERS _______________________ L.A. Noire PC supports mouse and keyboard, Xinput controllers such as the Xbox36 0 pad, and a specific set of Dinput controllers, including gamepads, joysticks and raci ng wheels. All control types can be used interchangeably. For instance you can use mouse an d keyboard for on-foot, then switch to a 360 controller or Dinput racing wheel for driving without havin g to change any options. For mouse and keyboard and Xinput controllers the in-game help will update autom atically to show the correct keys/buttons for the last control method you used. However for Dinput devices mo use and keyboard prompts will be shown as there are no standard button designations for those controllers. Please note: Only the first active Xinput controller (set to ID 1) will be used. Supported Dinput controllers will be auto-configured with a default control sche me. Below is a list of the controllers, along with their in-game ID numbers. You can use the ID number with the -joysticktype command line argument to force the game to use the control layout of a particular contro ller. e.g. -joysticktype 1 This is useful when you have a controller which is not officially supported and detected by the game, and wish to use the control layout of a similar controller.
