SAFE OPERATION
DANGER
Failure to observe the following safety instructions could result in serious injury and or death.

General Operation
1. Read, understand, and follow all instructions on the machine and in the manual(s) before starting. 2. Do not put hands or feet near rotating parts or under the machine. 3. Allow only responsible adults, who are familiar with the instructions, to operate this machine. 4. Be thoroughly familiar with the controls and the proper use of the equipment. Know how to stop the unit and disengage the controls quickly. 5. Be sure the area is clear of bystanders before operating. Stop machine if anyone enters the area. 6. NEVER CARRY PASSENGERS while operating any attachments used with the Power Unit - EVEN IF YOURS is a TWO-UP ATV! 7. Disengage the clutch on the ATV and shift the ATV into neutral before starting the engine (motor) on the Power Unit. Always look down and behind before and while backing up. 8. Handle fuel with care, it is highly flammable: (a) Use an approved fuel container. (b) Never add fuel to a running engine or hot engine. (c) Fill fuel tank outdoors with extreme care. Never fill fuel tanks indoors. (d) Replace gasoline cap securely and wipe up spilled fuel. . 9. Do not operate machine without the guards and other safety devices in place and working. 10. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. 11. Slow down unit before turning.

13. Shut off engine and wait for all parts to come to a complete stop before cleaning, servicing and/or unplugging the machine. 14. Operate machine in daylight or good artificial light. 15. Do not operate machine while under the influence of alcohol, medication or drugs. 16. Watch for traffic when operating near or crossing roadways. 17. Use extra care when loading or unloading the machine into a trailer or truck. 18. Always wear eye protection when operating or servicing machine. 19. Do not run ATV engine indoors, except when starting the engine. Open the outside doors: exhaust fumes are dangerous.

Slope Operation
1. Slopes are a major factor related to loss of control and tip-over accidents, which can result in severe injury or death. 2. Operation on all slopes requires extra caution. Do not use the attachment, if you cannot back up the slope or if you feel uneasy on it. 3. Go up and down slopes, not across. 4. Watch for holes, ruts, bumps, rocks, or other hidden objects. Uneven terrain could overturn the machine. Tall grass can hide obstacles. 5. Choose a low ground speed so you will not have to stop or shift while on a slope. 6. Do not work on wet grass. Tires may lose traction. 7. Always keep the ATV in gear when going down slopes. Do not shift to neutral and coast downhill.

12. Never leave a running machine unattended. Always turn off unit, secure parking brake, stop engine and remove key before dismounting.

Operators Manual Version 08

Quadivator Cultivator
6. Use extreme care when approaching blind corners, shrubs, trees, or other objects that may block your view of a child.

8. Avoid starting, stopping, or turning on a slope. If the tires lose traction, raise the attachment and SLOWLY proceed straight down the slope. 9. Keep all movement on slopes slow and gradual. Do not make sudden changes in speed or direction, which could cause the machine to roll over. 10. Use extra care while operating machine with additional or other attachments; they can affect the stability of the machine. Do not use on steep slopes. 11. Do not try to stabilize the machine by putting your foot on the ground. 12. Do not work near drop-offs, ditches or embankments. The machine could suddenly roll over if a wheel goes over the edge or if the edge caves in.

Towing
1. Tow only with a machine having a hitch designed for towing. Do not attach towed equipment except at the hitch point. 2. Follow the manufacturers recommendation for weight limits for towed equipment and towing on slopes. 3. Never allow children or others in or on towed equipment. 4. On slopes, the weight of the towed equipment may cause loss of traction and loss of control. 5. Travel slowly and allow extra distance for stopping.

Children
WARNING:
Tragic accidents can occur if the operator is not alert to the presence of children. Children are often attracted to the machine and the attachment. Never assume that children will remain there - the last time you saw them. 1. Keep children out of the working area and under the watchful care of a responsible adult other than the operator. 2. Be alert and turn machine off if a child enters the area. 3. Before and while backing, look behind and down for small children. 4. Never carry children, even with the attachment shut off. They may fall off and be seriously injured or interfere with safe machine operation. Children who have been given rides in the past may suddenly appear around the unit for another ride and be run over or backed over by the machine. 5. Never allow children to operate the machine!

Quadivator Cultivator

Operation
The Quadivator Cultivator is attached to the rear hitch on the ATV or lawn tractor. It is equipped with harrows and electric depth control which is operated from a switch that is mounted on the towing vehicle.

Guidelines for Use

1. Best tillage results: work at speeds between 4 6 mph (6 9 km/h). Reduce speed in trashy, rocky, rough conditions; or when using the cultivator extensions. 2. Raise cultivator out of the ground before making turns. Avoid making sharp turns that can contact the cultivator with the ATV or lawn tractor. 3. Do not make sharp turns while cultivator is being lowered in the soil. 4. When the cultivator is plugging, raise tines move ahead till the tines are free of the material; lower unit, and continue the tillage operation. 5. Harrow performance is affected by a variety of field conditions, which includes soil type, condition, moisture and residue as well as speed and depth. Run unit at desired speed and depth to check performance. Adjust depth, if necessary.

WARNING:
Do not use at speeds exceeding 5 MPH (miles per hour) or 8 kph (kilometers per hour). Always wear certified safety glasses or wide vision safety goggles over your glasses before starting, maintaining and operating the cultivator. Check the pneumatic wheels on the Quadivator daily. They should have 30 psi. Do not exceed 5 mph or 8 kph. The cultivator will not do a good tillage job if ground speed is too high. During heavy duty use, operate at a slower speed or go over the area twice. Repeat tillage, if necessary.

Hitch Height
The cultivator main frame should be level when in working position. If not, adjust the front hitch clevis to hitch tube till main frame is level. Check ATV or lawn tractor if hitch can be adjusted by referring to its operators manual. 1. Loosen the hex head lock nut, remove bolt and adjust hitch tongue.

General Operation
1. Attach the cultivator to the rear hitch of the ATV or lawn tractor. Secure with pin that passes completely through the ATV hitch and cultivator hitch. 2. Attach electrical switch to ATV to operate the actuator. Route & secure electrical wiring so it is away from contact or pinch points between ATV and cultivator. 3. Lift the cultivator with the actuator. NOTE: When the cultivator is lowered to the ground, the ATV must be in motion. The front tines should make the first contact. The cultivator will level out as the actuator is fully extended. 4. Raise the cultivator with the actuator. 5. When not in use: lower cultivator to ground so weight is removed from the wheels.

2. Reinstall bolt, lock nut and secure.

Auto Dump Box [86093]
The Auto Dump Box features a switch operated open/close tailgate to allow dumping without leaving the operator's seat. Installation 1. Position the dump box on top of the Quadivator frame. 2. Secure hinges in place by tightening the U-bolts. 3. Place the push arm clevises over the wheel axles of Quadivator frame. 4. Secure the clevises in place over the wheel axles axles using clip pins.

Barb Wire Dispenser [86090]

The Barb Wire Dispenser can hold 2 rolls of barb wire at a time. Installation 1. Remove the outside two shank assemblies from the back row of shanks. 2. Flip the harrows into transport position. 3. Slide the wire dispensers over the ends of the back frame on the toolbar. 4. Tighten the jam nuts. 5. Place the wire spool over the vertical support. 6. Slide the spool retaining washer over the vertical support. 7. Secure wire spool using the hairpin into the hole located at the top of vertical support.

Operation Use the spool retaining washer and cotterpin to secure wire spool in place. This will keep the wire spool from jumping or freewheeling from its position, especially in rough conditions.

Box Scraper [86091]

5. Adjust the tailgate position. This is so that when the box is in the "full down" position, the gate snugs up in the closed position. This is done by sliding the cable adjustment clamp up or down on the push arms. NOTE: Make sure the left and right cables are adjusted equally. 6. Secure the the left and right cables using the cable adjustment clamps on the push arms. TIghten the jam nuts. Operation/Helpful Hints: 1. The dump box does not need to be removed to cultivate. Remove the push rod clevises from the wheel axles and box will not dump. 2. If you want to be able to dump the box while you are moving, remove the rear shank assemblies. 3. Check the left and right cables so they are adjusted equally. Installation 1. Remove the three shovels from the back row of shanks. 2. Install the blade; by fastening it in front of the 3 shanks in place of the shovels. Fasten the blade with bolts and locknuts to the outside 2 shanks. The center shank is only used for back support. Helpful Hints 1. The front 4 shank assemblies act as scarifiers, They break up the harder surfaces allowing the blade to drag the material to be leveled. 2. Adjust the hitch height to change how much the scarifiers dig. Experiment with this to get the optimum performance for your conditions. 3. Different sizes of shovels can be used on the front four shanks. The 7-inch shovel are standard, but spikes can be used for hard ground conditions.
